Yeah, I have to say I agree with Formula, and I didn't think it was that harsh at all. It's so very true, if you take care of your car it will take care of you. Most cars nowadays as long as you keep their fluids full and change them when they are supposed to be changed the car will run damn near forever. Running a car super hot is going to mess stuff up, and running fluids too long is too.

The reason why I say YOU may have a trans problem is different. See, ATF does not dissipate heat. And if you have an auto and got the motor up that hot, you boiled the radiator over, and unless you just so happen to have an external trans cooler, guess where your stock trans cooler is? In the boiling radiator.

Think of ATF as a beer on summer day, if it's hot, it's no good. :
