Intake leakage is a problem area on the 3.8.
Always keep ,a eye out for low coolant or leakage in that area.
If you have any coolant lose have your mechanic check it when he does the flush.
If the rad cap gets bad or colant get low it tends to make dex cool get gummie.
Dex cool does not like air or low coolant in the rad.

not just on the 3.8, but the 3.1 also.
