Awesome. Before my front mount and a few other things I kept right beside one of them too. Well, untill we got to about 130mph then I left him have his top end fun. He said he hit close to 160mph later that night.

Re: Funny lil story

Damn. Yeah, I dont think much about TT 300zx's, stealth's, and 3000gt's. 300 hp stock is cool, but the bastards weigh pretty close to to 4000 lbs. IIRC, they weigh in at 3800. Sure they have more power, but it doesnt do them much good if they have an extra 500lbs to lug around. Assuming 15% drivetrain loss and 3800 lbs, they have a power to weight ratio of .067. For a DSM to get the same power to weight ratio, they would only need like 215whp in a FWD and a little more in a AWD to account for the extra AWD drivetrain loss. Basically a 3" exhaust and boost set up a few lbs on a 1g will be able to stay with stock TT 300zx's, 3000gt's, or stealth's that costed easily 10x just to buy the car. I give them a bang-for-the-buck rating of "Shitty." Then again, nothing is as easy and cheap to mod as a 1g DSM.

The Purple People Eater will ride again... January 2011 can't come soon enough.

Re: Funny lil story

I've always put Stealths, Avengers, and 3000 GTs in a similar category because of there looks not performance.

Once you start going really fast, power/weight isn't that important, power is. You need the power to overcome the wind resistance.
