Thanks... I've defended him quite a bit, so, I'm getting good at it.. I'm not a die hard Eminem fan by anymeans. But, I do hate to hear people say he has no talent... cause he really does... I kinda look at it like a painting, it may not be your cup of tea, but if it wasn't great, it probably wouldn't be hangin' in the #@$%in' museum! Ha ha! :smoker:

I've never been a really big fan, I do have his second CD, and liked a few songs off the new one...I am contemplating getting it.

Very true, and as Moby said if only ppl over the age of 30 were listening to it it wouldn't be a problem. As they would get and understand the satire and humor in his lyrics.

Unforunatly his largest audiance consists of kids aged between 10-18. 90% of whom take his homophobic, sexist, racisist and generaly predjudiced lyrics very seriously.
Even his "with out me" music video is taking the piss out of it.
He's in it for the money, and is quite happy with his record company targeting children despite the very adult content of his music, just as long as he gets paid.

He may have a say in who he "wants" it targeted at but I believe that the record companies that the end say.

ahh.come on!

I'm sorry, but, COME ON! Are we going to blame artists because kids listen to their music? Please! That's typical, let the parents off the hook.. cause they don't have ANY say so in how their kids were raised, or what they buy... (<sarcastic)... If you don't want your 16 year old listening to the music, then don't give it to them. And if they get it anyway, you have failed as a parent. But no one wants to say that... They'd rather blame musicians, or the record label, or the government for allowing freedom of speech, or maybe God even, for giving us vocal chords... it's anybody's fault but the parents of the kids listening to the music... right?

It is not the parents fault for 'letting' their children listen (unless the kid is really young) it is their fault for not educating the child to understand that what the artist is saying is not what the kid should be doing. if you sheild your kid from the world until they are 21 then let them loose they will not know what to do when something happens. If you educate your child on the facts of the real world and let them make their own decisions they will be much stronger and able to survive and understand their surrondings.

oh, and i think eminem is one of the most talented lyrisicts (sp) around today.

I totally agree with you on all accounts there Higgi!

Also, remember Jurassic Park? I know! Who couldn't! Anyhow, when it came out, the theatres where I lived were totally full! Well, the local news went around asking what people thought and all. One girl, the age of 13, said she expected to see purple dinosaurs! PURPLE DINOSAURS!!! Well, there is an example of a sheltered life thanks to parents!

Oh, I'm not joking!
