What do you mean?

That tower was designed by an American company.

Re: omg this is a big building..

Construction is already well under way, so it's definitely going to be done. It's insane, I thought Taipei 101 was unbelievable, this is just madness.

Re: omg this is a big building..

I just looked at it on wikipedia...hot damn...

This is prolly just one of the coolest things of it (and probably the least notable lol). But I wish i had a 1 GB/sec internet connection.

Re: omg this is a big building..

Did anybody see this part:
"The tower will be situated on a man-made lake"

And wonder if that will cause any structural foundation issues? lol

Your 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 is the 92nd out of the 315 that were made that year. Only 21 of which are exactly identical.

Re: omg this is a big building..

ha ha, wikipedia is badass; found this:

Apparently, this is the tallest man-made standing structure on land in the world:

A transmitting tower (photo from ~1 mile away) in North Dakota . It is 2,063 ft (628.8 m) tall.

It must suck for that one guy who has to change out the red bulb at the top.

However, this Dubai tower should blow that away also.

Re: omg this is a big building..

There was an even taller structure than the Dakota mast before, but sadly it was riddled with Eastern Bloc engineering and collapsed.

RIP Warsaw tower

Re: omg this is a big building..

Chicago is supposed to be designing a new tower, i'll see if i can find the plans for that, it's supposed to be in the shape of an almost twisting spire.

Edit: Found it, it's called the Fordham Spire, it's going to be absolutely gorgeous, it may not end up being the tallest, but the design is just amazing.

Re: omg this is a big building..

What makes the Dubai and Taipei -sp? towers look even crazier is that the surrounding buildings are not nearly as tall. The Sears Tower is tall but there are numerous tall buildings around it, making its stature not as astonishing. That proposed twisting spire looks pretty badass though. I look forward to driving by it along LSD

In UAE the construction is supposed to be finished by 2008, the one in Chicago is "supposed" to be done by 2010.
