Yes, yes, YES! They could do it in both street and motorsports versions, as they're keen to do.

If they ever do an F1, I'm happy- it would be the last new release I ever need, and I can subsist just fine on rereleases for the rest of my natural life.

Oh I wish it were that simple

First a McLaren F1. Then they retool the Enzo into an FXX. Then they decide to take the Porsche GT2 and make a respectable stock Turbo. Then the GT3 and make it into the later GT2. Then they decide it's time for a Mercedes CLS.

Okay, dream is now over.

Re: 1/24 Tamiya McLaren SLR

Very good news! That's such a rad car. $10 says they give it the trick opening doors. Way to go, Tamiya. It seems to me that they are sticking with racecars and nice kits of supercars now - letting Fujimi, Aoshima, and Revell all fight over the cars lower on the food chain.

Interesting. I see Zonda's design more aggressive, and Koenigsegg boring. (not that I don't mind having kits of them, of course.)

That is if certain individuals at McLaren stop screwing Tamiya. Is the McLaren property fully owned by MB now? If that's the case, Tamiya might have a chance.

Re: 1/24 Tamiya McLaren SLR

Very welcome and surprising news. Not a lot of info, so I wouldn't count on anything just yet.

EDIT: Just had a nasty thought - diecast chassis? [shudder]

That was my second thought but I really hope they don't pull a stunt like that...
