Nice trick for the seat. Did you have no problem with airbrush with talcum into the paint? Or did you use a brush? If airbrush which size of tip have you?
Good job go ahead!

I actually brush painted the seat. It took a while for it to look good.

Re: Aoshima RS Turbo Skyline Silhouette

Okay..so alittle progress. Everything is polished. I painted the window trims. I was going to BMF the side windows but the bottom portion is sooo thin I couldn't get it to stick. So I ended up with this.

The side window trims look good even just painted! Are you going to apply another coat of clear after decals are put on?

Thank you! I am not going to apply another clear coat of clear after the decals. There are 2 reasons: in real life the decals/vinyl that is applied on to these sport cars dont get another layer of clear on top. So this should look more authentic in some way. Second, I don't want to risk ruining the decals since I heard of bad stories online. Im sure there are many safe products and methods to applying the clear without have any adverse effects but I just dont want to risk it on this project. Maybe I'll try it on my next model, whenever that may be.

BTW...there's no clear to begin with. I just polished the paint directly. One of the guys who does amazing work on this forum said he doesn't use a clear coat in any of his models, so I figure I'd give it a try. I have done clear coats on some of my models in the past, and sometimes it actually looks more "toy-like" cause it was overly shiny lol.

I got the rear lights completed. I love the signature 2 circle skyline tail lights.

This is quite a serious build, not a fan of this car but everything looks great in every aspect! I can't believe you finished the seat by hand brushing, can't be that even! Keep it up pal!

Thanks I appreciate it. I started this hobby as a teenager and didnt have the money for an airbrush. So everything I have ever built is thru brush painting.

Thanks! I'm happy with them. However, if u look closely the amber turning signal is darker on the right side and the circular red areas were tough.

Re: Aoshima RS Turbo Skyline Silhouette

Finished detailing the window trim. The lower trim was soo fine, I cheated with a fine tip sharpie. But the body fits well on the chasis. Everything is slowly coming together. Next I need to remove the side windows so you can look into the cockpit better, attach the side vents, tail, and decals!
