Showing off???

If you ride one, you'll understand that showing off gets you killed. What you're refering to is how the damned things RUN. When I had my Katana it wouldn't do less than 95. It's kinda like driving in 1st and 2nd... It just doesn't feel right and the damned thing gets all jumpy, hit the brakes lightly and it just stops where it is... they are hard to drive slow.

And with the sport / super-sport bikes (not so much the harley type bikes with their billboard sized saddlebags and obnoxiously loud exhaust) you HAVE to drive aggresively or you WILL be dead. I could stop faster from 100 mph than ANY car could from 35 or 40 mph... you want to be WAY ahead of the closest car behind you... trust me on that. You also want to be wearing the brightest, loudest clothing you can find... number one reason motorcycles get hit by a car is because the driver of the car didn't see them.

About the sound of when 2 went smack dab into the side of my 78 Buick, cratered the hole passenger side, the first bike hit the front fender, the kid and and his girliie friend flew over the car and landed on the trunk/bumper/street. The second bike went right into the rear qurter and they launched 'em straight over the car. Impact was hard enough that even with my belt on I hit my head on the door post and was knocked out for 15 minutes.

Even more so, my mother heard the impacts 4 blocks away with the damn Kennedy freeway inbetween.

Nothing like spending an evening picking hair and flesh out of your trim panels. They didn't even make the traffic hearing months later.

Well... You have to not be a friggin retard to drive a bike. The guys that ran into you were probably so stoked that they had a peice of heiney rdiding on the backs of their bikes that they weren't paying attention. (Get the ass AFTER you're done riding - or drive it home, ride it, and drop it off someplace. I don't care what anyone says... riding a sport bike with someone on the back ain't fun.)

BTW - You're not supposed to have a passenger on the back of a bike until you have the equivalent of 2 full years of driving experience on one. 99% of people who have bikes take people on the back like within weeks. Makes a WORLD of difference in handling.

I never had anyone one the back of mine, except for my wife 2 times, and I had mine for about 5 years. The handling got so slushy it was even funny, not to mention that the foot pegs get that much lower to the ground... which makes turning that much more difficult.

I think I'll stick to four wheels, I have my own one bail on two already, you know that thread with the 'maro on the high tension wire? Somehow after I ejected myself off the bike, I managed to to miss it, it was right there.

Doorwall = Sliding Glass Door. (As they explained it to me... Inlaws: Its a door that's a wall. My reply: That's F'ing stupid... by that logic all doors would be door-walls then wouldn't they? Inlaws: Never thought about it like that.

Those Michiganders say all kids of crazy shit like that. Or maybe my in-laws are just a few sandwiches short of a picnic, but everyone that I talk to out there talks like that... geeks.

Hehe, the majority of my wife's family is the Dowagniac, MI (spelled?) area. They are all ok, but yah, there are some serious cultural gaps. Must be the way the wind goes across the lake or something

Even worse is the family my brother in law is marri-ing into. These people are like the results of aliens landing in the corn crops and screwing cattle or something.

Did the bail hurt, hell yeah, the chain drive almost took my foot off, I didn't realize that until the next morning tho when I went to put my shoe on and the side was missing.
