I thought you might. With a $6000 down payment, you shouldn't have any problem. Bringing it down to 12k is easily within your budget. Don't forget to add taxes and tags. This will probably add another 1k to the deal.

I have very good credit and it should help that your co-signer does too. I would suggest getting a loan at a credit union if you belong to one. They usually consider the car new if less than 3 years old and can give you a good rate. I just recently bought mine and got 3.9% financing.

I'm paying $480 for insurance every six months for mine, but I'm 32yrs and put low mileage on it since work is < 10 miles away. For an 18 yr old this quote will probably double or triple. They recently upped my insurance by $100, as well, due to the price of repairs on this car. You have to remember that this is a sports car and with you being so young, they expect that you're going to race it every chance you get (Of course I still do since I think I'm still 18! ). See if you can get on your parents insurance and this will probably lower it a little. The insurance company will also give discounts for multiple cars, good driver(no tickets/accidents) and sometimes for good students.

You should be able to work the figures considering you have that much cash to put down. Here is a link to an auto loan calculator. You can input percentage rate, loan balance, etc and it will give you the monthly payment - http://www.autofinancingusa.com/calc....html?source=a

Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions. I'd be glad to answer them.

Re: Whats everyone paying for an RSX?

i was plannin on bein on my parents insurance...i think the insurance they have i dont even have to be listed until i get in an accident or get a ticket or something like that...that will help alot...so you pay 480 every six months? thats not bad...do you have full coverage? if payments on this car with insurance was around 300 a month i could definately do that... would it be cheaper and better to borrow the money from a bank or get financing through the company? i live in a small town in West virginia, dont kno if you had to have that info but i figured i would tell ya anyway...thanks for your help

Since you live in WV, insurance might be way cheaper out there. I live in MD near the Baltimore area so insurance out here is way higher due to all the traffic around the beltway. I have full insurance on the car. You have to have full insurance if you take out a loan for the car. It might be different in WV though. I don't know what you mean by the company - the used auto store? If you can't get a good deal around your area since you're in a small town, you might want to search the web. There are alot of banks and other financial institutions that will lend you $ for an auto. Just shop around and see what rates you can get. I would probably not settle for anything more than 4-5% on the loan. You will probably be able to make it for $300/month. I don't see how your insurance will be that high since you live in a small town with not that much traffic.

Hope this helps a little more.
