"Simulation Mode" isn't good enough. I want "Career Mode" for a true racing campaign. The more complex, the better. They should actually make it possible to lose...
go broke, I mean. I guess you could "go broke" in the other ones... Buy the cheapest car, get carwashes until you're out of money, and sell that car. If it really was the cheapest one, then there'll be no way to buy another after the depreciation. |

I just won it, and was going to sell it for some cash, (its only worth about 6,000cr) but then i realised I couldnt buy another one. So I guess ill hang on to it, a modd it out for multiplayer races. ![]() Whats with engine mods to cars in your garage not being avliable in single race in arcade mode? My mighty little 527hp Focus lost about 230hp!!!! but retained the suspension settings!!!! (at least it was still dragging its arse on the road and handled really well.) And whats with Losing 8hp from that Focus becuase I left an oil change a little late!!!!! I think the AI in GT3 is a little smarter, it certainly stuffs up more often, and is better at getting back online after a good shunt. The physics model has been improved just a touch, With the right suspension settings a real drifter can be made.

You can permanently lose hp by changing the oil late? Oops, should have payed more attention to that... I ran a few endurance races back to back without changing the oil.

One thing I HATE: The fact that you cannot change the paint color of your cars. You spend money on car washes (which supposedly aid in the aerodynamics since dirt is removed) and on wheels, both of which are primarily for aesthetics, so why not be able to repaint the car? It doesn't take much to write this into the game. A simple change to a different factory color would be adequate. What am I going to do with a blue RX-8? I wanted a red one. Hopefully this minor change will make its way into GT4. |

A few more things I would hope to see in GT4 whatever-spec:
1) More aftermarket parts-makers featured; it was nice to see HKS cars in GT2... after all, this game IS about tuning right? 2) The ability to see FUNCTIONAL headlight lighting during night races; during in-car mode, it still feels like I'm driving with my headlights off. 3) Revised skidding sound effects; these sounds have been carried over from GT1, and to be honest sound pretty fake. 4) No more randomly selected cars; this just pisses you off. 5) This one is a bit much to ask for, but REAL car interiors (dashboard, gauge clusters, etc.); yeah I know, Gran Turismo is about being a driving simulation, but they've got that part down, why not take the next step on nitpicking other details? 6) And always, better music for the U.S. I hear that our crappy Lenny Kravitz intro song fades in comparison to the other markets' techno-like electronic theme. Anyone care to add to the GT4 wishlist? |

Scotchlite signs and road markings.
Daytime running lights. Transmission noise. :hehehe: Skid marks when you get in the grass. Transportation costs. (If your car fully race-modified, it isn't road-legal, so how does it get to the race? Goes well with the "Career-mode" I mentioned earlier. )etc... BTW, I always play with the music off. I'd rather hear the engines they went through all the trouble of recording.

I really hate the transmission noise. Are there even transmissions out there that make that severe slicing sound? One of my older cars used to have a damaged transmission and it made the same sound--a high pitched whine dependent on speed, not rpm.
I used to ALWAYS drive with the music off in GT2 mainly because the engine sound is my audible tool for shifting gears, detecting wheel-spin, etc. but now that we've got shift lights in GT3, I do turn on some of the tunes (not 'Dogg's Turismo', God forbid). Some of the engine sounds start to annoy me when I enter a tedious ten race series, so the music is a decent alternative. But the intro song really disappointed me. I think the original Gran Turismo's intro song is still the best. Forgot to add: 1) Better A.I.--everyone's biggest complaint. 2) Damage; this one could be controversial, but it may be the only thing that will prevent those bastard computer drivers from ramming you into the wall. Plus, it makes you a better driver. 3) Upgradeable aerodynamics; I'm not talking about 'phat-ass body kitz', I'm talking about the real deal: spoilers, splitters, air-dams, carbon-fiber, vented hoods, etc. somewhat like 'racing modification' in GT1 and GT2, but a bit more selective and detailed. After all, it's impossible to picture in the REAL world a 1000 hp Skyline will still look factory stock. |

I certainly don't expect this, but I've also always wanted like every car ever made in the game. I wanna drive my Escort! My mom's Windstar!!
![]() ![]() I really think there should be interior (dashboard) views as well.

I would like to see rally tracks that actully look like rally special stages.
Not 8 lane wide highways covered in gravel. And as for the AI, I dont actualy think it has AI, just preplaned routes that the comp cars drive on.

This is about what the tracks are like now: ![]() Brown is roadway, red line is the invisible boundary (usually coinciding with a fence or wall) and green is bushes. The 2D bushes that only block your view; they don't slow you down... And here's how they should be: ![]() Now the roadway looks much narrower, but there's still some leeway because you can drive through the bushes. But, and this is kinda hard to see, to discourage drivers from plowing through the bushes all the time the invisible wall has been made all jagged, so the car can get snagged on it at any time if it's in the bushes. What do you guys think? |

I think you have way to much time on your hands.
But that how it needs to be. Gravel roads on rally special stages are rarely more than 1 1/2 to 2 times wider than a car. I think on GT the problem is driving model dosnt allow the level of precision required to drive that narrow a track, so they make the course an 8 lane highway.
