Re: Peugeot 307 WRC 2005 with Crazy Modeler Extras

Superb Steve, makes me want to get mine started.

MPWR - WRC cars have steel brakes. And the complaints about this kit concern the flat undertray and dumbed down details. A PE set can fix most of the latter, the former we're stuck with.

EDIT: And if I'm not mistaken I assume the red part of the Marlboro decals were cut out. Allowing the red paint to show through, so no need for the headache of making the decals conform to the door handle wells. That's how I'd do it anyway.

The CM decals applied with 'Daco Solution' just worked into the handle wells easy, so I didn't cut them out, I've done that in the past and had problem keeping the decal nice and square.

Amzingly enough, www.halfords.com seems to work in my browser
BTW, I wouldn't get toooooo tied in to Halfords paints and clears per se, there are many/several other alternatives out there (I think)

Re: Peugeot 307 WRC 2005 with Crazy Modeler Extras

Fantastic progress and at such a fast rate too. The body looks nice and the paint is smooth. I've always liked the peugeot's in the red and white livery. And the brakes look awesome. In reality they should probably be worn and dirty, but I love the sexy look of shiny discs peeking through the wheels. I've just started a monte F40 and I couldn't bare to paint the PE discs, they just looked too good with a light wash in the vents.

Re: Peugeot 307 WRC 2005 with Crazy Modeler Extras

Steve,

Klutz recommended Mr Hobby (GSI or something) clear, and I've just ordered some from hlj. I plan on trying this out over decals, as I've not got the balls to try Halfords clear over decals... Knowing my luck, it would crack and wreck the decals all over...
