Re: So how bout those 4th Gen. Civic's?

The most I've been able to sqeeze in is right at 10 gallons, and that was with the motor shuting off as I pulled into the station. I usually get close to 28 mpg, but my timing is advanced, and I normally run about 80-85mph daily to work.

Nope, DX has an 11.9 as well, the HF has a smaller 10.6 gal. tank.

If that's true, then why do you get such shitty gas mileage?

Re: So how bout those 4th Gen. Civic's?

Ive never been able to put more than 10 gal into my 89 base model, and that was pushing it to the station, when I fill up, I can run 340 miles one tank

Re: So how bout those 4th Gen. Civic's?

Damn my 89 STD ran 430 miles to a tank once.. Maybe thats because my tranny has an added 5th gear, so i do low revs at high speeds on a fuel efficient d15b1.

Re: So how bout those 4th Gen. Civic's?

Like I said, I dunno where the hell the bottom of the tank is...I am currently at mile 278 of the tank..the needle is buried almost 1/4" belew the line and still have no sputtering at all, but I have never driven it more than 290 miles before I filled up, and even then I only got like 9 gal into it..Im not saying it was empty, but thats just the point where I didnt feel good about running any further. I have put 10.2 gallons into it though, just once..and I have no idea what the mileage was. But everytime since then I cant get more than 7.-8 gal. This is the tank though..Im gonna run her down and then set the needle, Id rather have it read empty accurately than read full (which it does quite well).

Re: So how bout those 4th Gen. Civic's?

Sheesh! With all this talk makes me want to buy a CRX again. They are good gas savers! I drove from Chicago to Greenbay on a full tank and ended up in Green Bay with the needle just below half tank. It was 246 mile distance
