Re: What's everyones summer project?

Get my body kit installed (once i get it ordered o.O) I have the fenders, a roof scoop im not sure im going to install, and a new spoiler already. Just need the basic kit bumpers and skirts.

Also need to get my FF7's ordered and install my 17x7's that are impatiently sitting in the garage (re: picture)

Once i get the body work done, im getting a fresh coat of black put on it when i get the new parts painted, and im thinking about putting some sort of dark grey design painted on the sides.

Hopefully i can get it done this summer, The rest of the car is pretty much complete (engine and interior).

Re: What's everyones summer project?

I just sold my horse, so with my next paycheck I'll have $1300 or so to put into my Z24. Right now I'm debating as to whether I'm going to do the suspension or kit it first. I can't lower it more than an inch, on the roads where I live or I'll smash the kit off the first day it's on, and if I want to race it I can't put bags on. I think I might get my body kit. I've picked out a 4 piece Avenger kit with a Voltex rear bumper.

Tough call.

Other than that, when I get the money. I'm painting the interior, painting a bunch of the engine components met. blue, new guages, new head lights, new tail lights, new corner lights, new fenders, and if I can somehow come up with the money new seats.

Re: What's everyones summer project?

You know the Eibach Pro kit only lowers it 1.6" right?

1.4" but close enough!

Re: What's everyones summer project?

Fair enough but I'm worried that if I lower it anymore than stock I'll rip the kit apart. One of my friends just kitted his Mazda Protege and the front end already looks dangerously close to the ground especially when crossing railway tracks and the like.

I would really like to lower it though. How much of a hassle is it to drive on a regular day basis with a cav lowered and kitted? Watching for bumps and other obstacles. (I haven't driven a dropped car before)

I know 1.4" isn't that big of a drop, but I'm trying to be as careful as possible.

Re: What's everyones summer project?

I am getting some 17's or maybe even 18's, with some lower pro's. I'm just trying to take everything into consideration because I'm definetely not an expert at this.

Dropping it with the eibach kit sounds like a good idea, but I think I'll kit it first and get some bigger rims to see how much clearance it gives me before I make my final decision. I mean if I don't have enough clearance after that, which I should, I could install an anti-roll sway bar kit to gain some of the stability I'm looking for.

If your looking for performance, 16s are the way to go.

I'm looking for a compromise. I want the car to look nice as well as go considerably faster than stock.(I'm boosting it) I'm not expecting to turn my car into a rocket, I just want to have some fun with it as this is my first project car.

Re: What's everyones summer project?

Yea i am looking for some new rims but deffently going with 16's. Cheaper on rims and tires and don't look horrible with all that steel. Plus gives you enough rubber to keep that road nice and tight

Heh... you don't "feel" the road rocking 16"s. Put a quality sport suspension on your car, rock 18"s... Oh boy you feel every imperfection on the road. Like cracks in the pavement.

If your looking for performance, get yourself a set of Motegi Trak-lites in 17"s.. They are forged wheels and weight 15lbs a piece. You just unfortunatly pay through the nose for em... lol.
