Re: What should I do!?!

Congrats on the car! Is it an auto or a manual? Cause that will make a big difference in its bottom end. I have an auto and it doesnt really start to pull until about 20 mph. Either way nice find and make sure to get those pics up man!

Re: What should I do!?!

It is a Five Speed Manual. Not sure yet what is going on with the purchase, the guy hasn't emailed me back in 2 days! If I do get the car I will be sure to post pictures on a new thread.

No, the ES is the same as the RT and the SL, and the 90-96 base 3000gt. All of them have the DOHC 222hp. The only differences are extra options, such as fabric or leather, digital climate control, adjustable seats, etc.

Check out the FAQ, alot of stuff is covered in there, that you should read as a potentially new owner.

Your 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 is the 92nd out of the 315 that were made that year. Only 21 of which are exactly identical.

Re: What should I do!?!

I thought that the ES, SL, and R/T had the same engine untill 1997 when then ES amd SL (R/T?) downgraded to a SOHC engine with around 155 hp. Pretty sure it is something like that. Oh yeah and the guy finaaly emailed me back about the car. Hopefully I will get a test drive this weekend.

Wow, count the ways this post is wrong.

1 Stealth ES ,R/T and 3000GT Base and SL all had the 222hp DOHC motor from 91-96
2 In 97 there is no Stealth of any kind
3 In 97 the 3000GT base went with the SOHC 167hp engine and the SL kept the 222hp DOHC

Re: What should I do!?!

Hahaha, hey I have been waiting a long time for a decently quick car. Guess what my 0-60 time is in the car I drive now is. Well I'll tell you, 22 approximately. I need this car to...huh...balance that, yeah, balance...

Re: What should I do!?!

Woh, what do you drive now? If it really is 22 seconds your 1/4 mile time is going to be very close to your 0-60 time...seriously.

lol

Re: What should I do!?!

It is a 1991 Subaru Loyale Wagon, about 90 horsepower. I will go time my 1/4 mile right and get back to you on that.

Re: What should I do!?!

OKay: 0-60 time is about 17ish, and 1/4 mile is about 20ish. At about 60mph.

Re: What should I do!?!

LOL. I got a strip of road when I measured off a 1/4 mile. Its a little hard to get a good time because there is a slight incline at the very end but it still gives a guage of what I am running. It also sucks because I have to make sure no one is coming up behind me before I stop dead in the road.
