It is possible. The CAT convertors have been problems on the 2001 - 2002 models and the CAT portion of the emissions warranty was extended by GM to 10 years or 120K miles. Worth a try and its free. However, the other poster I mentioned in one of the links also had the CAT replaced but still had the P1361, 1362 & random misfires P300 return. Good luck!

Re: 2002 GTP Misfire

I got the car back on Friday night and it runs like a champ. I appreciate all the help and this forum. I am sure I will have more questions. I have noticed that I cannot see the HUD so I think/hope that is the next thing I tackle. Thanks again, David

Hi David. I'm hoping you are still on the board here. Did fixing the cat permanently solve your problem? I'm currently going crazy trying to solve a misfire problem on my 97 GTP. Thanks in advance !!

Welcome to AF.

If a thread has been closed, there is probably a logical reason for it. If you feel that the reason(s) for closure of the original thread are unjustified or wish further clarification feel free to contact any member of the moderating team. However, do not start a new thread about another closed thread.

Please avoid posting or voting in outdated threads. It merely clutters up the message board and makes it more difficult for fellow members to sort through the vast amount of information contained on the boards. If you have new and important information to add regarding a past discussion, feel free to start a new thread and if need be, add a link to the original thread.
