I'd die in the pub, so I wouldn't have to go anywhere.

i would say the morgue, but all the dead people have made that so cliché.

visit florida, and someone in particular, then on to my friend's house, keel over and die. just to make a mess.

Re: If you died tonight, where would you go?

Since everyone seems to be having a little fun with this, (and it is an automotive forum) I have a question for you FO. Does your car have a "Wave if You Love Jesus" bumper sticker on it, or just the simple stick fish?

Since this is the Philosophizing sub forum I will answer your question seriously. (Maybe the first to do so?)

After I die, I expect to go to the same place I was before being conceived. Nowhere. I will no longer have a working brain, eyes, ears or anything else that would allow me to experience anything or "be" anywhere. I will no longer exist in any way shape or form. Definitely not as seductive as ever lasting life to be sure, but arguably more logical.

I wouldn't go anywhere, myself. I'd just hang around and haunt people, flicker lights, scare children -- that kind of stuff. I suppose I'd pretty much wing-it, really.

Re: If you died tonight, where would you go?

Proverbs 16:25 (NIV): There is a way that seems right to a man,
but in the end it leads to death.

"I'm basically a good person, so I'll go to heaven."

"OK, so I do some bad things, but I do more good things, so I'll go to heaven."

"God won't send me to hell just because I don't live by the Bible. Times have changed!"

"Only really bad people like child molesters and murderers go to hell."

These are all common rationales among most people, but the truth is, they are all lies. Satan, the ruler of the world, plants these thoughts in our heads. He, and anyone who follows his ways, is an enemy to God (1Pet 5:8). Satan always disguises himself as good (2 Corinthians 11:14), but he has control over all the minds that do not belong to God. "Satan, the god of this evil world, has blinded the minds of those who don't believe, so they are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News that is shining upon them. They don't understand the message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God" (2 Corinthians 4:4).

It is a lie to believe that God doesn't care about small sins, and that hell is reserved for "bad people." All sin separates us from God, even a “little white lie”. Everyone has sinned, and no one is good enough to get to heaven on their own (Romans 3:23). Getting into heaven is not based on whether our good outweighs our bad; we will all lose out if that is the case. "And if they are saved by God's kindness, then it is not by their good works. For in that case, God's wonderful kindness would not be what it really is - free and undeserved" (Romans 11:6). We can do nothing good to earn our way to heaven (Titus 3:5).

"You can enter God's Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose the easy way" (Matthew 7:13). Even if everyone is living a life of sin, and trusting in God is not popular, God will not excuse it. "You used to live just like the rest of the world, full of sin, obeying Satan, the mighty prince of the power of the air. He is the spirit at work in the hearts of those who refuse to obey God" (Ephesians 2:2).

When God created the world, it was perfect. Everything was good. Then he made Adam and Eve, and gave them their own free will, so they would have a choice whether to follow and obey God or not. But Adam and Eve, the very first people God made, were tempted by Satan to disobey God, and they sinned. This separated them (and everyone that came after them, including us) from being able to have a close relationship with God. He is perfect and cannot be among sin. As sinners, we couldn't make it there on our own. So, God made a way that we could be united with Him in heaven. "For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16). "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 6:23).

Jesus was born so that He could teach us the way and die for our sins so that we would not have to. Three days after His death, He rose from the grave (Romans 4:25), proving Himself victorious over death. He bridged the gap between God and man so that we may have a personal relationship with Him if we would only believe.

"And this is the way to have eternal life - to know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one you sent to earth" (John 17:3).

Most people believe in God, even Satan does. But to receive salvation, we must turn to God, form a personal relationship, turn away from our sins, and follow Him. We must trust in Jesus with everything we have and everything we do. "We are made right in God's sight when we trust in Jesus Christ to take away our sins. And we all can be saved in this way, no matter who we are or what we have done" (Romans 3:22). The Bible teaches that there is no other way to salvation than through Christ. Jesus says in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me."

Jesus is the only way of salvation because He is the only One who can pay our sin penalty (Romans 6:23). No other religion teaches the depth or seriousness of sin and its consequences. No other religion offers the infinite payment of sin that only Jesus Christ could provide. No other “religious founder” was God become man (John 1:1,14) – the only way an infinite debt could be paid. Jesus had to be God so that He could pay our debt. Jesus had to be man so He could die. Salvation is available only through faith in Jesus Christ! “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).

Quoted from:
http://www.gotquestions.org/Jesus-only-way.html

My question was meant to get people to think. Think about it though... What would happen to you if you died tonight? It's nice to think that you cease to exist. But think about it through your own terms logically: "What if the Bible is correct?"

Now I'm not saying I'm believing because I'm scared. I'm believing because I know it's the true path. Look at the Universe, Earth, everything....

Do you really think we popped into existence without God making us?? Do you really think everything came into existence suddenly, without a creator?

Say if you were to be walking on a beach, and were to see a watch lying on the sand. Let's say it's a Rolex, worth a lot of money. Now thinking logically do you believe that through millions of years of shifting sands, and water, the sand carved the metal to become a watch? Let alone a rolex? Think about it...

Now look at Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism etc. then look at Christianity...

No one except for us teach that you must put your faith in someone. They all teach about "Good works" bringing you into Heaven, or about enlightment.

Good works will not cut it...

Now look at the laws of our Government.

Have you ever broken a law? Have you ever gone over the speed limit in your car?

We all can say we have. Drag racing on the street is illegal, but I'm sure most have done it.

Everyone has broken a law at least once in their life...

Now look at the 10 commandments:

(1) “You shall have no other gods before me.”
(2) “You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below."
(3) “You shall not misuse the name of the LORD your God, for the LORD will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses His name.”
(4) “Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy."
(5) “Honor your father and your mother."
(6) “You shall not murder.”
(7) “You shall not commit adultery.”
(8) “You shall not steal.”
(9) “You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.”
(10) “You shall not covet your neighbor's house. You shall not covet your neighbor's wife, or his manservant or maidservant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.”

Now when Christ died on the cross for our sins, and anyone who believes in him live under the new law. But, the 10 commandments should be examples for what God doesn't like.

1. Have you ever committed yourself to something so much... that in a sense, became a "god" to you? We all have... Money, power, lust
2. Same as 1 in a sense
3. Have you ever said anything derogatory using God in it?
4. Doesn't really apply today, but everyday should be put before God.
5. Have you ever done something to make your parents mad at you? Has there ever been a time that you disrespected them?
6. Have you ever had an evil thought about another person? Just because you don't kill them, doesn't mean that no one has ever been angered against another person, and that counts just as much...
7. Have you ever thought of a girl in a sexual way? Have you ever cheated on someone?
8. Have you ever taken anything at all in your life? Have you ever thought about taking anything... it's all the same.
9. Have you ever lied?
10. Have you ever wanted something someone else owns?

Everyone has broken a law sometime in their life, everyone has broken the 10 commandments (But to a Christian, the commandments are this: Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and love your neighbor just as yourself, which it still holds to the 10 commandments.)

I believe in Christ, and I'm sharing my love for him to you. I am not crazy... I'm just trying to spread the truth. We're all sinners, wether you ackowledge it or not. But know that if you put your faith in Christ, and repent of your sins, you will be saved. Yes Christians still sin. I am a sinner. But I know I'm justified through Him. It won't be possible in this life for even a Christian to ever fully stop sinning. But know that it's not a license to sin. Instead when you become a Christian you try your best to live for God... Prayer, reading his word, trying your best to stay away from sin, and spreading the gospel. Praying to God and asking forgiveness of the sins you commit during the day is a normal thing for true Christians. Asking for help from God to help you in everything you do, and praying to know His will in your life.

The Way:
Are you hungry? Not physically hungry, but do you have a hunger for something more in life? Is there something deep inside you that never seems to be satisfied? If so, Jesus is the way! Jesus said, "I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty" (John 6:35).

Are you confused? Can you never seem to find a path or purpose in life? Does it seem like someone has turned out the lights and you cannot find the switch? If so, Jesus is the way! Jesus proclaimed, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life" (John 8:12).

Do you ever feel like you are locked out of life? Have you tried so many doors, only to find that what is behind them is empty and meaningless? Are you looking for an entrance into a fulfilling life? If so, Jesus is the way! Jesus declared, "I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. He will come in and go out, and find pasture" (John 10:9).

Do other people always let you down? Have your relationships been shallow and empty? Does it seem like everyone is trying to take advantage of you? If so, Jesus is the way! Jesus said, "I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep...I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me" (John 10:11, 14).

Do you wonder what happens after this life? Are you tired of living your life for things that only rot or rust? Do you sometimes doubt whether life has any meaning? Do you want to live after you die? If so, Jesus is the way! Jesus declared, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die" (John 11:25-26).

What is the way? What is the truth? What is the life? Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6).

The hunger that you feel is a spiritual hunger, and can only be filled by Jesus. Jesus is the only one who can lift the darkness. Jesus is the gate to a satisfying life. Jesus is the friend and shepherd that you have been looking for. Jesus is the life - in this world and the next. Jesus is the way of salvation!

The reason you feel hungry, the reason you seem to be lost in darkness, the reason you can't find meaning in life, is that you are separated from God. The Bible tells us that we have all sinned, and are therefore separated from God (Ecclesiastes 7:20; Romans 3:23). The void you feel in your heart is God missing from your life. We were created to have a relationship with God. Because of our sin, we are separated from that relationship. Even worse, our sin will cause us to be separated from God for all of eternity, this life and the next (Romans 6:23; John 3:36).

How can this problem be solved? Jesus is the way! Jesus took our sin upon Himself (2 Corinthians 5:21). Jesus died in our place (Romans 5:8), taking the punishment that we deserve. Three days later, Jesus rose from the dead, proving His victory over sin and death (Romans 6:4-5). Why did He do it? Jesus answered that question Himself, "Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends" (John 15:13). Jesus died so that we could live. If we place our faith in Jesus, trusting His death as the payment for our sins - all of our sins are forgiven and washed away. We will then have our spiritual hunger satisfied. The lights will be turned on. We will have access to a fulfilling life. We will know our true best friend and good shepherd. We will know that we will have life after we die - a resurrected life in heaven for eternity with Jesus!

"For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16).

An example prayer:

Dear Heavenly Father,

I know I'm a sinner Lord, I know that I cannot gain my salvation on my own terms. I believe that Christ died on the cross for my sins, and I know he was buried, and ressurected by you. I don't want to goto Hell when I die, and want to be with you. I repent of my sins Lord, and know that by your grace, I shall be saved.
I pray, and ask these things in Jesus's name, Amen.

After that, commit yourself trully to him. Pray, read his word, and do his will everyday. Try your best, and know that by his grace, you're saved!

goto: www.gotquestions.org and read up for any questions you may have
also: www.biblegateway.com for online Bible's.

I'll answer any questions anyone has. But after becoming a Christian.. find a Good, honest Bible-Believing and Preaching Church. Watch out for traps, and watch out for places that teach a false way. Catholicism is not the truth. Catholics teach that Christ plus works will gain you your salvation. Instead by your works you shall know you're a Christian.

Baptist Church's are a good start, but only if they preach the truth in the Bible, and that's by placing your complete faith in Christ. You cannot get to Heaven any other way. God doesn't send you to Hell either... the evil you do in your life is what sends you.

But have Faith, anyone who accepts Christ as their savior alone will be saved. But just saying the words and going off doing what you want, doesn't show that your saved. Instead, by the works you do, shall show that you're saved.

I'm not forcing anyone to become a Christian. I'm only doing my best to spread the word. I know that when I die, I'll be in Heaven, and I'm showing you guys the hope I have in my Lord and Savior.

I know my prior post is a long one, but please read through it... it's well worth the time!!

Jesus Christ is the only way
Heaven and Hell Exist

Anyone who puts their faith in Christ will be saved.

Re: If you died tonight, where would you go?

jesus christ is NOT the only way. so are you saying that since i don't believe in religion because i think it is the biggest hoax in the history of the world that i'm really fucking myself over for when i die?

i could make up my own whooole story right now about creation and myself and 1000 years from now, they'd have to believe it cuz that's all they have and i said that's what's going to happen.

you claim you're not pushing anyone to be a christian, yet like 5 lines later you tell us jesus christ is the only way and if we don't side with you we won't be "saved".

it's jesusfreaks like you that piss me off. always trying to tell me i need God in my life and i need to be "saved". it's Darwinism 100% here. you don't see me posting threads about how God is fake and that Charles Darwin is our new saviour. know why? cuz i'm not going to push my views on other people like you. i have my respect for myself, for my views, and especially other people. did you know it says in the bible that you're not supposed to be doing that anyways? bad christian..
