Well I dunno about you but if I worked for the post office I wouldn't go there to eat, I'd go there to sort mail. If women are going to work they should do exactly that, work. Sorting mail in this case. Cooking happens at home unless that's what they do for a living, right?

I could understand if the women wanted to leave early so they could have dinner ready on time. That's very important you know.

That's all I care about. If a woman cooks it or not makes no difference, so as long as it's good.

Re: working for the post office

who invented fire?

Women

Why did they invent fire?

So that they could cook, it gave them a purpose in life.

I'm kidding, i hope nobody takes offense to it.

i take great offense to that. but i'm glad someone is finally acknowledging the fact that women did all great things in history. if anyone objects to that, just think about where all the great men came from. a woman.

Re: working for the post office

ummm, all great men came from both a man and a woman, that arguement's worthless :P

and as for all great things in history, name one (other than fire, that was a joke and it was obviously a man because women back then actually didn't do much but gather food like berries and stuff like that)

Re: working for the post office

are you sure it wasn't a bunch of greek or roman men? they had all kinds of sex together and did all kinds of nasty things.

anyways that list of the 50 most important women in science is flawed. what about mary currie, she discovered pollonium and discovered all kinds of things about radiation. there's also a woman who basicly invented one of the earlier computers but i forget her name.

and they neveer mentione one woman who did something like.. oh... let's say created a mathematic model of an atom. or came up with a theory of relativity, or discovered the charge on just one electron, or anything absolutely huge like that.

so basicly, men have done the most important things when it comes to physics and chemistry. also english literature, nothing is better than shakespear, he mastered the english language like no other ever has.

i'm not saying that men are better, i'm just saying that they've done the most important things in many areas. which is not surprising when you concider that women weren't allowed to vote until recently (as in within 100 years) and stuff.

Re: working for the post office

many of those great inventions were helped by women. as you pointed out, women had a lot of social restrictions on them up until recently. often times they let men take credit for their work just so their findings could be published. and about the things men did discover on their own, who do you think they came home to after a hard day's work and made them feel all better? women, so indirectly and directly we've contributed to every invention in history.

Re: working for the post office

yes but that would be like einsteins parents saying "we raised him so i think we should get some of the credit for his inventions" yes, women may have helped with them, but they didn't actually come up with them. actually now that i think of it, women didn't help, those men were to busy to ge women, they were mostly single. einstein was single when he published anything of value, his wife died. and i believe neuton was single, steven hawkings is single. i don't know of the others but im sure many of them were single.
