Re: Pics of the newbies rex

No offense taken, differant strokes for differant folks. Might agree the decals are a lil excessive. SOME PUNK tried to break in last night was up til 3 am with the cops waiting for the crime scene uit to arrive to take fingerprints. Just happened to run it through the car wash at about 10 o' clock last night so the prints wee fresh and new. They got the door open but the viper started goin nuts and he hauled ass.

With all that audio I could see why he wanted in, good thing you have an alarm. I just have a cheap clarion and my two front speakers in my Honda, all my money is underneath the hood

Re: Pics of the newbies rex

Wholy big pictures!! Nice clean car, the monitors are cool too. It sucks that you cant hide any of your radio stuff, i always remove the face from my radio and i have my amp hidden. I try to keep my system stuff on the DL so people dont know what i have. My brother has had his truck broken into twice in one year.

Re: Pics of the newbies rex

You should take off the stickers... all it does is advertise everything that is in your car to steal.

Re: Pics of the newbies rex

its your car man. do what you want to it. we are just here for advice even tho what everyone has said is true. its just what we think is best for the 2nd gen crx's but do what you want. dont turn your car into our car. and you definatly need a bigger amp. i have an 800 watt amp just laying around.

Re: Pics of the newbies rex

It's cool I appreciate everyones opinion, good or bad, stickers will be coming off soon, was a phase I went through I guess. As far as advertising everything thats in my car though, all ya have to do is take one look through my hatch and ya gonna get a good view of everything. As far as getting jacked, the Viper has kept me out of a lot of trouble, and after the attempted break in, we installed a wireless IP camera, that broadcasts to my wireless router, and records from 10 PM to 6 AM, aimed right at my car and our stairwell, with a flood light aiming right at my car hehe hows that for security? Also sign posted under his bedroom window that reads "This area under video surveilance". Big props to viper for having the pager system remote control, lets me know when its going off, as long as I am within range. As for as the rims go, if I did change them would go to 17's... cuz I do agree they are a little too big, but dont like the look of anything smaller than a 17 even though they are lighter etc.

Re: Pics of the newbies rex

I'm glad I live in an area where I can park my 15 year old car in the backyard and leave it unlocked. I'm sure somebody wouldn't mind a few parts I have but most people in the south have guns so most thieves are either crackheads or won't waste their time with old cars.

As far as the 17s, man that is your decision, but with gas prices skyrocketing do you really want to sacrifice those precious mpg for supposed better handling of big wheels and rubberband tires never really intended for your car?

Re: Pics of the newbies rex

TOTALLY agree with ya on the tire aspect, not only do ya feel every bump in the road, but if ya hit something bigger than a bump, rims get bent, which destroys the tire in the flattening process, hit a pothole in Miami, turned out to be a 400 dollar venture, to fix the rim, ship it, replace the tire and have it mounted. Handling with 18's is nice but switching to a 17 wouldnt affect that a whole lot. LOL I know Im going to catch alot of shit for it but, those wheels WOULD look nice, considering I want the black widow II body kit, any smaller wheels look silly in those flared wheel wells, also wheels without a spacer look weak with that body kit installed also. Id imagine alot of people think that kit looks stupid, but if ya do it jussssst right... I think it would look tight. As far as thieves go in my area, they arent too bright... right on each window is a VIPER auto security sticker posted right there, and also have two blue varad scanner lights on each pillar to thwart away thieves. The camera recording every minute during darkness will help me sleep better none the less... oh yeah... is anyone ever gonna walk me through starter replacement? Socket sizes... step by step etc, want to get the old one out and the newer old one in lol!

Re: Pics of the newbies rex

The 17s would definitely look better with that kit you're going to put on it.

As far as the starter replacement... here is a pdf of the Helms manual (best) and can walk you through anything...

Re: Pics of the newbies rex

hmmm...not bad. the stickers and rims would have to go if i were going to drive it....and the siR on the back.......when you leave dx on the back it makes for a better laugh when you beat someone...lol , than you can tell them its stock.
at least there is no dents. and you live in florida (woot!) so i take it rust is not an issue.

Re: Pics of the newbies rex

Well salt rust isnt a problem..but rust does happen, I noticed a iniscule speck on both of my rear fenders, I ground it off immediately..
