I HATE classic cars.... whos with me on this one?

Watched "Pinks" the other day. An import (Honda?) against a Mustang (80s model?). Mustang won every round. Import broke the transaxle trying to get off the line the 3rd race. Mustang guy went home with both cars and said he'd fix the ricer and sell it. I'm not a mustang guy but I sure loved seeing a "moded" Ricer get spanked.

are you forgetting you can't compare a 50 year old car with a new one. in their day they were the fastest thing (some) out there. not so by modern standards, but that's not the point.

I totally agree. Cars have evolved so much in the past 50 years. Heck even the past 20 years.

Then: Mechanical Distributer with breaker points
Now: Fully ECU controlled coil pack

Then: Carbeurator
Now: Directly Fuel Injected controlled by a computer

Then: Bodies made of steel
Now: Bodies made of lighter materials such as Aluminum

You can never fully compare something computer controlled vs something mechanical. It would be like comparing a robot to a factor worker.
