my car sits in the sun for hours every day with the sun beating down on the painted interior. it does nothing to it. no cracks, no peels no nothing. so i really dont think you have a problem. just make sure that you clear all of it after you paint.

Re: DashBoard Painting

Cheryl923 is the knight fox lady. Thanks for the info. The knight fox is a zx4 I am doing. I appreciate everyones help. I was able to find some pink dye and was told that is the way to go. No sanding required and will last longer than the paint. Thanks again I appreciate it. ttyl

very cool. havent delt with the dye stuff so be sure to post some pics of the finished product when done. but see it sounds like with the dye you be able to have it look at smooth and glossy. just paint this piece in my engine compartment not sure whats its called lol but heres a pic..

yeah i think it looks pretty good. the only problem with painting the intire intake is once the new engine goes in im putting on a CAI. so painting it really isnt worth it. but maybe i will do it just for the hell of it now that you brought it up

EDIT: lance if i paint the intake what all should i paint?? from the TB box to the filter box? or what??

Re: DashBoard Painting

Well, if you're throwing in a new motor anyway, then just go for the gold and paint the whole damn thing from the Tb cover to the intake box, it's like getting your head shaved, you can cut/shave/dye whatever you want because you're shaving it all off anyway!

Re: DashBoard Painting

my99cavy the blue looks great. The piece in your engine is the radiator bracket. You should think of painting other things in the engine as well. Not necessarily the engine itself but i agree about the intakes. I started taking the interior panels off tonight. I wont be painting til the week of the 7th when I am on vacation. I want to do everything at the same time. I mean dying not painting. That way I only have to clean the gun out once. I am going to paint the upper parts of the door, the console, and the instruement panel. And probally the vents as well. That way it all goes together. I dont want to paint the seats or fabric them that is why I am keeping the door handles black and the lower part of the doors grey. I found someone who will matchthe dye color to my graphic that is already on the car. cool huh!!!! Well once done I will definitely put up some pics and see what you guys think. thanks for all the help. chow cheryl
