Insurance claims rep says let Daimlerchryster get van

So I give up Im tired of the fight and my little girl is doing good now. Just test all straps for yourself Of dodge caravan or durango jerk front then rear anyone can see there is something wrong. I am afraid other children will get hurt or killed but No one gets defective seatbelts recalled anyway.

even when people keep getting killed over them they will not recall. I may write a thing in paper about it then Im just giving up.

Re: Caravan Rear shoulder straps Don't catch in crash

Well guess what. I have a 2004 caravan and today I checked my back seat belts and they sure don't grab like the front ones did. 90% of the time when I gave the back ones a quick jerk they didn't catch at all and the front ones seem to catch just about every time. The front and back look a like but they sure don't work a like.

I understand what you are saying about the kids putting the belt behind them because I've seen kids do that, but if the front and back seat belts are sapose to be the same they sure don't work the same.

Re: Caravan Rear shoulder straps Don't catch in crash

EVER mini van on the market passes the front and rear seatbelt jerking test except dodge caravan. Don't you think that is strange? Even if seatbelts are proven unsafe they will not recall them go unsafebelts.com you can read daimlerchrystlers history with unsafe seatbelt issues. People die and well no one cares until it happens to them. Side crash isn't really important with shoulder catching mechanisms. Frontal crash is because it keeps thier face from slamming seat in front of them its never been tested so no one really knows if they work or not. They sure didn't work for us in our crash is all I know and if you care enough to take the time to go around jerking minivan seatbelts you will see something is wrong with the rear ones in dodge caravans and durangos.
