lol, wow what a stupid statement. When i was younger (im 20 right now) I was never harassed by police unless i was doing something wrong/stupid. Some kids just feel sorry for themselves because of their mistakes.

Re: damn speeding tickets

Yea. Speeding tickets suck. The last time I got pulled over i was clocked in doing 67 in a 55. I was up in northern Wisconsin, It was opening weekend for deer hunting, this was the first time driving to my uncles cabin, and my dad gives me these what i thought were simple directions. I ended up 64 miles east of where I had to be. So I got on a road that took me directly to the town. So im going down this road and there was harldy no one on it. So I was going down a hill and I let my foot off the gas so it would coast and when I get to the bottom of the hill i would put my foot back on the gas so I would maintain 55-60 MPH speed. I get to the bottom of the hill and here comes a cop from the other way. I didnt think much of it til I looked at my HUD and i was going 67. So I got pinched. $160 dollar ticket. Written warning for having too dark of tint (20%) and not having a front license plate.

To top this all off. I just got canned from my job the same day and my car started to misfire because I got my car stuck at my uncles cabin cause my front tires were bald and there was a lot of snow and I kept spinning out. So i drove about an hour and a half south while the car randomly misfire.

It wasnt my day.

Re: damn speeding tickets

i don't think they've got me targeted, but when you have a red car, with a loud ass intake, and loud exhaust, and a somewhat heavy foot its like "ooh follow this car... he might fuck up" ... gotta meet traffic ticket quota today... its like a have a giant fucking beacon flashing over my car saying "come get me"... doesn't matter how i drive or what i'm doing.

Re: damn speeding tickets

Exhaust profiling is bullshit. In my eclipse(total ricer exhaust) i've never once been pulled over in the 2+ years i've had it. Your just looking for excuses besides your bad driving habits.

It's true that once the local cops get to know you and your car they will keep an eye on you. I found this out first hand when I was a kid. After getting written up for "illegal start of a motor vehicle" (smoking the tires!) in one instant, and open alcohol in another, I was being stopped for any little thing. Tail light out, stopped. Loud exhaust, stopped. Front bumper height, stopped. Hell, once they stopped me early in the morning because "we know where you live and noticed that you didn't go straight home"!

The only thing you can do now is be a goody two shoes until they forget about your reputation. Getting a different car or taking the cab will help too!

Re: damn speeding tickets

As far as the "Reckless Operation", you revved. If it's not against the law, and the cop didn't see your wheels spin, you should get out of it. You missed a shift, whatever. This is a BS ticket and you know it. But having the speeding ticket on your record goes against you.

You have to think about it from the cop's point of view (no I'm not a cop). They see a sporty/fast/loud/tuned/whatever car, and 80% of the speeders and a lot of the accidents they handle involve that type of car; regardless of whether or not it's BS for the cops to watch cars with loud exhaust, stickers, or lowered, they DO watch and you have to acknowledge that they are doing so. To do anything else would be pure stupidity. So be aware of your vehicle and try driving precisely.

Now the speeding ticket. Your own story said that you got to top of 3rd and considered slamming 4th. Maybe you DID slam it for a bit, ever think of that? At 85+ mph things happen pretty quick and it would only take a couple of seconds.

Go to court, appeal the ticket, say you were only doing 80-85. Work a plea bargain out with the prosecutor beforehand, to plead guilty for 80. It usually works. Sign up for a defensive driving course BEFORE your court date, and make sure to tell the judge about it.

Then man up and pay the fine.

Exactly. Learn how to drive and you'll stop getting in trouble with the law. I've been driving for over 5 years and only had 1 ticket, how many tickets have you gotten over this what.. 2-3 days?
