Re: My newest planned mod

Haha =/

Like I sad above the pic of my engine, thats before I got all that tar (or whatever that black shit is) off from under my hood.

Oh, and I may not have anything to show under my hood now, but I need something to do while I wait for summer to start building my 350

/edit: malletslinger, under your hood looks nice and all, but the engine overflow bottle and probably the washer fluid bottle look horrible. Mine have a similar dirty / yellow tint to them, so thats why I want to do this. And its not alot of work, it goes under the front tray, bolts in (might have to trim slightly), and cut a circular hole in the tray, and im done.

Re: My newest planned mod

Hay now...when it comes right down to it, you still have more to show under the hood than I do...I only have the 2.8
My bottles actually look really good...a few weeks ago when I was painting my battery tray, I removed the overflow bottle and cleaned the inside using clean water and a tooth brush(I had to tape two together to be able too reach deep enough and to make it bend to get all the curves) then I used 409 and the clean side of a spunge to scrub the outside of both tanks...the pic doesnt do that bottle justice, it almost looks new(you can buy new ones aftermarket for cheap). My washer bottle looks nearly as good(didnt clean the inside)
Don't get me wrong, yours engine compartment will look much better than mine with the bottles hidden(if your paint in there is still nice) but I like to see exactly how much I have in my tanks as soon as I open the hood...Also, I may be a little jealous because I don't think I could do that(if I wanted to) because my intake uses the space where the bottles would go...

Thats right, the only Camaro that can do this mod is one with a carb / tbi because of the intake. Now in your case, you can still do the engine overflow bottle (I noticed I didnt post a picture of it, Ill get one) because it goes under the battery on the passenger side (might require locating for a V6), and that will remove one of the bottles. I've also seen people use a combo box where the washer fluid and engine overflow are in the same box (obviously seperated) and that cleans under the hood up nicely as well.

Re: My newest planned mod

You guys have some clean bays, i really need to clean mine up a bit. It's been awhile. Finally installing mods on the ROC, just dropped the rear again yesterday. It's just been really cold these past couple of weekends. Good luck Colt.

Re: My newest planned mod

I planned on doing it next week since that's my spring break, BUT I'm waiting on a TA girdle from a friend.. thats not big deal, however my tuner's new hardware being lost in the mail may effect when I install it, since ill not only have the speedometer off but my WOT shift point will be off as well

Id like to see what it looks like, but I probably wont do it unless I do an engine swap, because I would want to repaint the engine compartment...there are rub spots under the overflow bottle, and if there aint going to be something covering them up, then I would want them to match...which would require me to pull the engine and paint, and Im not pulling the engine unless its for good
