Re: Changing Spark Plugs

RC12ECC cross to Autolite 985 according to www.sparkplugs.com

I have 985's in mine. Hey at least a six pack of them won't bust your wallet to see if they work better.

Re: Changing Spark Plugs

If teh jeep is still shuttering, double check that you have all the coils or boots on the right plugs, because i know i made that mistake and had to look at a friends I6 to get it back in the right order becuase i mixed them up while changing the plugs.

Re: Changing Spark Plugs

I too fought the rough engine idle and shimmy and shake for over a year. I virtually replaced everything on the engine in the way of sensors, wires, plugs, dist cover, rotor, motor mounts, etc, etc.... I was at my witts end and had just about given up. The only thing I did not replace was the coil and that was because it tested good with the ohm resistance test. Well, this past weekend bought a new $36 coil and replaced it. My Jeep now runs like it just rolled off the showroom floor. As a matter of fact, it has not ran this good in years. I have 235,000 miles and hope to get another 235,000 out of it......Tip of the day: REPLACE THE COIL.

Re: Changing Spark Plugs

Well in this case thats an expensive job, It has a COIL OVER PLUG DESIGN, which uses 6 Ignition Coils (Coil Packs), which are up around $130 each.

Re: Changing Spark Plugs

I am running Bosch Platinum +2's. It runs exactly the same as the stock champion plugs. It there are any issues though I will just switch them out and send them back to bosch for my money back since they are guaranteed.
