Re: why i think 1g's are better then 2g's

I have to go with 2g only because they:

1) have spyders
2) have much nicer curves
3) overall nicer interior (my personal preference

However for nicety of engine parts the 1g wins because it has 4g63 in every model so it's fairly easy to step that boy up... Where as unless you have a gst, gsx or spyder gs, spyder gst you get a 420a which is pretty eh to me...

And as for the 1g I drove a laser once. The back seat was wicked small much smaller then the 2g it seems. My head hit the hatch window.

People's head always hit the hatch glass in the back of my car.

I would trade my GSX for an AWD Spyder any day of the week. People really don't understand just how easy it really is to do!

Re: why i think 1g's are better then 2g's

i just moved to the gst.. awding a spyder is a bit off for me. lol. But seeing how quickly i got bored with the normal spyder it could be sooner then later. Hopefully I don't get bored with this one. I've seen all the tutorials online. While easy as in not much work the work that is done is very intense (at least at my skill level)

okay i read a report on DSMstyle.com most people sad if your gonna get a 1g eclipse you should go for a 91-92 gsx/gst/tsi....if your getting a 2g to go for 95-99 gsx/tsi.... they said 420a's are the worst mistake made.

Each model year have their own quarks. The 90 is the only year that has the air-to-air oil cooler and pop up head lights & also have a diffrent TB and Emmision Controle system. And are the only 6bolt year that is not compatable with the 2g/1g head swap. 91 is your basic 6bolt universal parts car and the begining of the Eprom 1g ECU's. Some 92's came with 4bolt rear ends, and 4/92 was the mid year conversion to the 7bolt engines & black top CAS. 93-94 are worthless 1g's IMO. 95 2ga has its EPROM 2g ECU's, CAS under the Cam Gear, Stronger Tranny, 4bolt rearend & Stupid ass LICP silencer. 96 was a bum year for the DSM like the 93-94 1g's with no change.. 97-99 2gb has a much better front bumper for FMIC, just a more attractive all around apprience & the CAS back where it belongs.

Then you get the Galant VR4: won't even go there. Everything about that thing screams awsome!

Also, I totally agree with you on the AWD Spyder. If I had a shit load of money and time to burn that is exactly what I would do with them.

boyertown, are you in the midwest? dsmstyle.com is based out of Minneapolis/St Paul in MN.

The 420a was definately not a mistake. It is good on the gas, reliable, and holds boost well. My buddy has a boosted 420a, even the stock block took lots of shit before he threw a rod.
