Re: Progress - Ferrari 512TR from Rosso

I'm sorry, I haven't any discs/sunspensions wheels-free picts: I hope following stuff could be helpful, not the tr but the 512M. From an old magazine,I try a shot with the camera.

Have a look on those 512M interiors, crap pics but amazing int.

Those pics are great.
Does anyone know any site where you can download pics of other "half-opened" ferraris?

Re: Progress - Ferrari 512TR from Rosso

Thanks for the pictures and kind words, everyone. I have made some progress I'd like to share.

First off, big change of plans. Decided to make this version:

Yes, the Hello itty 512TR. I know it's a photoshop, but it's so damn cute! So I have painted the body, the colour seems pretty close

OK, breathe in and put away those heart pills. I'm just messing with you, some innocent photoshop fun Yes, I was planning this from the beginning. I did put a couple of coats of the base colour on the car yesterday, and here's what it looks like. This is not a photoshop.

I like it, the red is very rich and juicy. Hope to finish the body this week, time permitting.

Looks good Alex. What paint are you using? Is that automotive paint?

BTW 1: I have some Kitty decals if you want them (seriously I do, Crazy Modeler ones)

BTW 2: I've got some info for you, will PM later

Nice work Alex, you can try and do the Hello Kitty version, you have the paint, you could have the decals but where the heck would you find Kitty badge
I am interested in the paint to looks very silky.

Kitty decals? Sounds awesome actually!

The paint is Glasurit Rosso Corsa. It requires a clearcoat, but not before I spray two or so coats of red.

Thanks for the comments.

Great work, keep it up.

I love Ferraris, hope to build a 512 myself. I'll be watching.

Good looking progress Alix!

Too bad you wouldn't make the silly Hello Kitty car, everybody loves a pink italian pussy.

Re: Progress - Ferrari 512TR from Rosso

An update.

Since I've done things with the body that are too disturbing to post on an open forum, I've done some work on the suspension, mostly rear.

Here is what it looked like oob. For some reason, this piece had plenty sink marks and pin holes on the visible side, so it took some filling/sanding/filling/sanding to remove.

I've been adding some bolts, nuts and brackets here and there, and here's what it looks like now.

Upper arms

A couple of closeups

Overall view

I will also be adding an anti-roll bar and some other details here and there, so it's not finished yet. The front will get similar treatment.

Thanks for the comments, guys, and sorry it's taking longer than I was hoping for.

Alex

Re: Progress - Ferrari 512TR from Rosso

Did you cast those nuts and bolts, or did you get 'em from somewhere? I've been scouring... well, I've been idly thinking about finding nut/bolt castings around engine bays, the PE bits are way too flat.
