But mine will not be red, never!

To bad the engine on the fujimi kit is lacking in detail, Revell's is beter.
But I also get the feeling that the Fujimi kit's body is more acurate and the kit has beter detail allround but both kits have their flaws. The Revell kit has F430 written on both mirrors, while it should only be on the driverside mirror and the Fujimi kit is missing the horse on the headrests.
When combining both kits I think you can get a kit close to Tamiya's quality.

Re: Progress: F430

The option parts kit has a different pair of seats, so horse or no horse it doesn't matter. Also, I don't think the option parts version is meant to actually be a challenge, is it? Because the five lug v one lug doesn't really bother me either.

The Revell's engine detail doesn't really get me that excited. You can't see any of it once it's mounted; it's not like a Civic or a Camaro where there's a ton of look-see around the motor. The frame connector hides most of the motor, all you can see is the intake plenum which Fujimi has done well. With some clever detailing and painting, it'll look great. All the Revell kit does is let you get dust all over the motor by opening the hatch. Not that terribly exciting for me. The body looks stellar, though, so Fujimi was the way to go for me.

Re: Progress: F430

Now with more interior!

The Accu-Stion PE is great. Too bad none of it shows - the F430 plate for the dash is there, but you can't even tell what it is in the photos. Shame. I also intend to add seatbelts and buckles, but I've not the right sized plastic for the buckle so I'm going to wait for Saturday, after I go to the LHS to get some more TS primer and TS-29.

Ooh! But my doctor specifically told me to stay away from foods with lots of interior in them.... Oh well, it's so tasty I can't resist!

Gorgeous!

Re: Progress: F430

Made with 30% real engine.

Still a few paint callouts to do, and I am still trying to make some passable fuel rails to populate the engine bay a bit more. It looks good, but sparse. I really think this looks just as good as the Revell engine bay when it's all shoehorned in there. The airbox is painted magnesium, and the hose clamps are BMF. Also, the metal subframe around the engine is BMF. Weird!

Also, since I am adding mesh from the Accu-stion PE set, I felt it necessary to add a couple small radiators to the front of the car, like the real thing. It would be weird to look in there and see... nothing. I'm doing the same in the back of the car, with a peice to simulate gearbox through the mesh hole in the diffuser.

Re: Progress: F430

That's a great job Mr. Willimo, Sir!

The interior is soooo cleanly put together and detailed.
Also the paint on the body paint looks as if it's still wet

Very nice call on the radiators - that will be filed away in my "good ideas to steal/borrow" filing cabinet
