Real novas

Ive got a 63 nova ss that im rebuilding. i got a 350 out of a 76 vette that had 180 hp originally. not anymore. its been bored .040 over putin it at 358ci with vortech 64cc heads on it and edelbrock vortech style intake manifold and a 600 cfm edelbrock carb. the cam is a 480 comp cam. my dad rebuilds automatic transmissions and i help out, we took a 700r4 out of an 89 pickup truck and modified everything we could. i put 3.36:1 posi in a 10 bolt and she'll lay double lines

Another REAL Nova!!!

My father has a '74 Nova, it's the real thing . Really nice car too. I don't know what he did to the engine as it was built before I was born lol, but its a 327 with a little over 300hp.

i'm fixing to turn 40, and i bought a 73 nova ss 26 years ago, it never really turned alot of heads and alot of people say they stopped making novas after 72. now things are changing and the 73-74 novas are getting a little recognition, im redoing my car and will have it back out in a couple of months. 406cid, alum heads. ive never lost the love for this car all though i didnt drive it for a few years.

not my car but drive it often, it is my father-in-laws but i helped with alot of the work
74 nova, 3365lbs w/ driver
BODY
'glass hood and trunk lid aluminum inner fender wells, painted 89 mazda mica metal red
INTERIOR
dakota digitals, painless wiring, pro seat fully adjustable racing seats
ENGINE
GEN VII 5O2 isky cam, keith black pistons, not sure of other internals, dart stage II heads ported polished, RPM air-gap with a 1,050 dominator electric fans and water pump
DRIVETRAIN
built to the hilt turbo 400, with gear vendors under/overdrive 4.56 in a gm 12 bolt shifted at 6350 rpm
PERFORMANC
RWHP 691@6200 rpm
after installing the 502 and new gears we drove 25 miles to the track, 90 degrees and ran a best 10.02 @ 139 mph before we were thrown out for no cage, with a little workwe expect mid 9s. the BEST thing about this car is it is street driven everyday and gets 16 mpg
if you dont have a gear vendors check it out it makes the 4.56s very streetable making them 3.23s this is amazing on street/strip cars
I FORGOT, THIS PASS WAS RUN ON BFG DRAG RADIALS295/50 16 AT 16 PSI

i personally have 2 novas 63 ss and 64. both started as basketcases (64 still is) but the 63's body is on a rotissere rack, i have a new subframe with a worked over 468 (590hp@5200 672lb-ft@4800 at flywheel) plans are shve all trim and handles except the little chrome rearview mirror for eye candy, mini tubbed, wrap the cragar drag lites in something low profile, narrower the 4.10 posi to fit and the soon to be 4" cowl hood and spray my own gloss black paint, year one interior goodies, and if i find the dough powdercoat the frame etc..
P.S. the original A/C works!!

dunno where you live, but in the rustbelt here in IL there are no novas 79-older at all, any nova this old would turn heads here, i wish i could find another 77 or 78, but there is not a single one left i practically grew up in a 78 coupe, and i had a 77 coupe a few years ago i saved from junkyard- i was third owner and original owner paperwork was in glovebox,.

will have to travel to TX or cali or somewhere like that in order to find one to get,.
