As many above have said, as long as you're living under her roof, you have no room to talk. Move out on your own and see what life's really like...if you can't afford to move out, then maybe you need to reevaluate yourself. When was the last time you helped out with rent/house payment or even groceries. I bet you don't have any clue what things cost, or you wouldn't be complaining. If you were to move out on your own, you'd be paying a MINIMUM of about $700 a month for rent, utilities, food, etc. You just have to ask yourself: Is freedom worth $700 a month? If yes, move out. If no, suck it up, abide by her rules and grow up.

I don't care if you're 18 or 30, if you still live with your parents, you are very much a child. When you move out, you will experience so much more freedom and responsibility, you'll never want to go back. You will have the freedom to do as you wish and the responsibility to manage your life. Yes, it has drawbacks but they are more than worth it vs. the costs of living with your parents.

hey man yeah i know that you want freedom and all, and that you want to leave the nest, but do you think that you can handle it? i mean come on the cost of living these days is fuckin $$$$$$$$$ ya know? i'm 17 and my rents are on my ass..mostly my mom, especially about me and my girlfriend, but still dude i love them 2 death. i mean i don't mind that i have a roof over my head with the only rent being obeying their rules which aren't as strict, and waking up early on sundays 2 go to church. i mean it's true that once they're gone, they're gone, i found that out when my grandma's sister (my grand aunt) died last december at around the time of my Confirmation. she was healthy and all of a sudden she died of a stroke...life can be cut just as fast as you can snap your fuckin fingers dude. don't take it for granted. you need 2 talk 2 your mom to vent out man and to maybe negotiate some ground rules man. my mom had it worse, where she was living with my dad and was 21, but she still had a curfew by my grandma, but she came out ok man. i mean in my opinion, they care enough to try and help you have a better future and lead a better life than what they had ya know? because they probably had to bust their asses off for you man. just show some respect man and she'll probably get off your back. start doin shit for her. gain her trust. the more that you act out the less that she'll trust you man you have to understand that. i doubt that you want to get kicked out of the house nobody really does man.

My parents are pretty cool about most things except cerfew issues. I graduated high school and they still want me in at 11. I think 1AM is a better time. I have many friends who are JUNIORS that go in at 2. I dont think 1 is too much to ask.
Other than that, I understand that I live under their roof, and must respect, but they need to trip a little less. And it isnt like im a deadbeat either. I will be attending heald college beginning july 31 to get my assoc. degree in business software applications, and after that will probably pursue a bachelors. Ok, all done
