I used to own a original blackfoot. thats not impressive cause i was just racing on an asphault track, with foam tires which are more for carpet use, and was keeping pace with the gas touringcars on the straits, and im still using a 27 turn motor. I was also able to pass them in the corners. And, this is with a cheaper reversible speed control, cheap steering servo, basic AM radio, and still the older 2000 cells, not even a 2400 pack. And the guy i was facing, was using a Airtronics M8, and i dont know what else but if they can afford a M8, they got to be using better electronics then me. Thats why today, i bought upgraded everything so i can really beat them.

I dont use them nearly as much as I did before I had a real car, but here they are, in the order that I aquired them:

1. Traxxas Hawk 2
2. Traxxas LS-2
3. Traxxas Nitro Hawk (sold a couple years ago)
4. HPI RS4 w/Porche 911 Carrera body
5. Tamiya Mini Cooper
6. Tamiya TA02 FF (yes, FWD) w/Honda Accord body

I raced the Hawk 2 twice at Fast Lane in Newhall, CA, and got 3rd the first time out, and 1st the second time out. It had an off-brand stock motor(27T), a Dynamite 1200 pack or something like that, and full bushings. I was about the slowest truck in my races, but was darn consistent. I love that thing.

The LS-2 was to be the racing replacement for the Hawk 2. That never happened because I promptly lost interest, and I never got the steering to work right. Last year I destroyed the front end off a bike jump and am having trouble finding all the parts.

The Nitro Hawk was ok, but the pull start took a crap three times and wouldnt stay fixed, so I sold it for $75 ready to run(doh!)

I got my RS4 I think the same year they came out or the following year, cant remember. It is a badass car, but I need to get some bearings for it.

The Mini was supposed to be a play around car, and that it was. I literally drove the wheels off(now I need new wheels and tires, hehe)

The TA02 is just like a small version of a real FWD car. Oh wait, its supposed to be. Alot more whippy than an AWD car.

Holy crap that was long. Sorry bout that, I just now found the R/C forum and had to introduce myself, I guess.

hey honda_guy, and welcome to the R/c forum. Sorry I've fallen a bit behind to say the least. if you have any ?'s bout them, ask me, i should know. You can see what I have, and i can tell u that my pan car is very fast, fast enough to keep up with the .15 nitro car with a 27 turn motor, not bad considering at the time, they had just as much money in his transmitter and servos than i had in my car.

let me check

I'm not exactly sure who makes the Mclaren car, let me go downstairs and check real quick. ok here we go, its on page 154 in the december 99 dupont. Tecnago makes itand its 3 feet long or 1:5 scale. holy cow, i don't know what i was smoking, they aren't $5000, the prices range from $1095.00 for the Extreme model and $1395.00 for the Competition model, and i'm guessing that all the bodies are interchangable. you can check it out at www.tecnago.com

i bet my body on my stampede is in worse shape than yours. I have duct tape holding my doby together, is held on by 3 clips instead of 4, and has a huge crack on each side of the bed so there is barely anything holding the whole body together. ill get a new body for it soon though, cause i dont wanna show up at the track with this body.

Anyone do 1/5?

Hi, I have a HPI Nitro RS4 with an Accord body, and Viper and a CLK. But the one I run every week:
FG competition 1/5 scale.
23 cc engine.
3+ hp.
4 wheel disc Hidraulics brakes.
Mercedes C180 Body. But soon with a Primera body.:sun:

I have also run in the past on a Serpent 1/10, but not anymore.
