anyways, are you sure there was no modification besides getting the RWD tranny and custom driveshaft. i mean i know motor mounts had to been fabbed up and oil pan i am pretty sure beings the VG is rear sump and the RB26 is front sump. custom oil pan or RB20 would have had to been used.

just curious of the extent of the fabrication...does someone talk to this guy or know where i can PM him?

i remember someone saying they had to remove an redo alot of the rear of the engine bay to get an RB25 to fit.

must have more info about this swap...
I agree i want more info!

Re: New Z31 owner here!

no, it will not fit in a north american z31 without MASSIVE fabrication (eg. cutting and welding prettymuch everything in the engine bay) however on the 200zr's it will fit (I THINK don't quote me on it) with much more minor modification...

pfffff, screw the wet sump all together go for the drysump!

anyway, even if i Could do it, it'd be a massive waste of money... for the amount it took to even get the engine and swap it in there i could have a 700hp vg with all the bells and whistles...

Re: New Z31 owner here!

See everything is differant from the one in my sig. The one in my sig also hasa RB26in it, That has alot of polished work done. It is a 84-86 see tail lights. And it has a differant gauge layout. I personally like the one i posted more. Oh and theres differant wheels as well!

Re: New Z31 owner here!

Yup...definately different.

Welcome to the forum, man. You want some Z31 pics, lemme know. Hell...you want some Z pics in general, I got em! I have hundreds of pics saved on my computer that I used as wallpapers. I have a program that cycles them every so often so the wallpaper on my desktop is always changing...usually between different pics of Z31s, Z32s, GT-Rs, S14s, few choice Ferraris, etc...

You have any questions, need to find some parts, whatever, lemme know. I've been in the Z31 game for quite a while now (I'm trying to get my 4th Z31 right now and I'm rebuilding the VG30ET out of my last one, also an 86) and, as far as parts go, if I don't have it, I can probably find it! Feel free to PM or e-mail me any time!

Re: New Z31 owner here!

Doing the swap is a bit involved. However, it is easier to go from digi to analog than it is to go from analog to digi. You plan on doing it yourself? The easiest thing to do would be to go to Z31.com and post an ad in the "Parts Wanted" section of their classifieds saying "I'm looking to convert my 86 Z31 from digital gauges to analog and I'm looking for the parts to do it" or something to that effect...I gaurantee you'll get at least one hit very quickly...probably within 24 hours. Wish I had the rest of my 86 layin around...I'd take the stuff out of it for you. I gave it away and kept the engine.

Kinda funny...of all the Z31s I've had (and even the 89 I want), NONE of them have/had the digi dash!

Hey guys...like the new sig? Not as...umm..."pretty" as I'd like it but I don't have photshop or any other editing progs like that.

Re: New Z31 owner here!

Liking the sig thanks you think i should just stick with the Digi dash? such as buy a new one or repair this or swap to a analog. I also had the idea of making my own with auto meter gauges. Then i thought that would be a pain the ass. Well let me know.

Re: New Z31 owner here!

enh you could try to fix the digi dash, I really don't think it'd be too bad. I like the digi dash myself...
