Before you go diving into the tank, make sure that is your issue, do as suggested put the pressure gauge on, secure it to the windsheild in clear view and take it for a run, get it up to the speed where the problem occurs and look for a fluctuation (drop in this case). Since it occurs at 70 mph, i would suggest having a companion watch the gauge

This could be a number of things, but if the car can dirve just fine otherwise, I wouldn't thnk pump just yet. A pump will really reveil a problem at lower gears. I'd be looking at o2 input, maybe the pressure regulator, fuel filter/leaky or clogged injector(s) and EGR.

yeah i did the fuel pump on my uncles 97 z28 convertable, and it was fairly easy
