my theory might be wrong too. but to me if you are making decent power, it should just all be about weight placement. a friend of mine had a decently built 305 and a built tranny (<dont ask what he did i dunno) but the way he saw it the car is like picking up something heavy with a lever (most your weight is in front. thus making it harder for the front end to lift. but if you add weight to the rear (behind the tires, and on them for better hook up) and if you have a coilover front end max the height on it so even more weight is shifted higher and backwards. (if you dont get it dont worry) but the physics is sound. but things like slicks might help too.

Your theory is right on the money. It's basic geometry. Remember sixth grade math? Levers, pulleys? Same thing. It doesn't take as much work(horsepower)to move an object if you use a lever and place said lever in the proper location. Remember the adjustable torque arm? Instant center? Nuff said-
