the new v6 in automatic form run around 15.2,15.3 consistently, and its not to hard to be consistent with an auto. the manual should be slightly faster although ive never seen times from a manual. they top out at 113 because they are governed. the last gen v6 is the same way. if elchico raced a mustang to 120, it was a gt as they are governed higher. unless it was a v6 with a chip in it to get rid of the limit. in reality the 99-04 topps out at 138 with no governer. maybe it was a manual and this kid couldnt drive.

now dont think im callin bs, im not. but lets atleast get all the info straight. my model v6 mustang runs mid-high 15s, they didnt make the new ones slower. and really from the dig you didnt pull away that fast it sounds like. another thing to consider, maybe the stats you found were for the convertable, as they suck ass. i hate convertables on all cars, unless they are supposed to be convertables, like a miata.

notice the high tq on the mustang, its better on bottom end, which explains why you beat him much worse from a roll. all in all, good kill

^^ good way to sum it up... i wouldn't mind having a go at a new mustang... what they lack in speed they make up for in looks :-)

Well at least your not calling bs, as far as pulling fast from the dig, i saw him in my rear view mirror by the end of third, before then he was on me pretty good, but after that i was gone.

I think they are all 5 speed now. As of 2005 all mustangs have 5 speed automatics or 5 speed manuals. I know for sure the GT's do and I am fairly condident that the V6's do also. Thats why the GT auto's only run a 10th slower in the quarter than the manuals do.

you are correct, its about time they replaced that old auto they had tho. that thing ate horsepower like it was its job.

Yeah I would say so. It has been a shame that for years the manual has run half a second faster or more than the auto mustangs.
