This past post was enough to get me off my butt, go outside in the 30 °
weather and throw down my large piece of cardboard I save for working under the car and have a look at my left rear Fuel Filter tubes with a flashlight. No kinks.... So much for that possibility. Only 4,327 left.........onward! DoctorBill

Important Update!!
Thanks for this tip. This thread helped me fix my 1990 Geo Metro. The hose on the 1990 model is in front of the rear wheel, though. I had replaced a bad fuel pump and made all three hose segments a little to a lot too long. I shortened all of them up. The return fuel line wasn't easily visible, but it was badly kinked. I just drove it for approximately 150 miles with no problems. I got 42.6 mpg and it was running smoothly the whole distance! I think I will get even better mileage when I stop putting my foot into the carburetor.
