Re: Completed: Skyline 350GT

Impressive paint job. Maybe one day I'll reach that level with the damn airbursh .
I'll have to buy that car, or someone similar. Surely a tuned one.

What is the result of spraying the Mica Blue over Gun Metal??

SEE YOU

It darkens the blue and adds more depth. Before i got an airbrush i got bored of Tamiya TS can colors so i began experimenting with base coat colors. the base color can change the top color alot. for example: for Ferraris i use different base colors for different year Ferraris. Paints over the years have gotten better and colors are much more vibrant then they were in the 60's etc.... so for older Ferraris ill use a gray, pink or orange base coat to darken and take away some of the red. for newer Ferraris i will use a yellow base coat to make the red really scream.

different silvers are great base coat for semi-transparent colors such as Mica Blue and Red. It can add depth and lighten or darken the color.

Great job on the OOB kit. I have been trying to stick to a stock build so I can get some more models done but I have not been able to stick to it yet.
