Re: Calsonic GT-R WIP - First build on the forums

@Bobble83 - Thanks. I chose the color instead of normal, plain 'ol Brilliant Blue (which, IMO, has run it's course being on so many cars and all).

With just about everything else painted, and waiting for more carbon decals to come in the mail, I thought i'd have a go at polishing up my first laquer paint job. I must say, this is some tough paint to cut through compared to some of my other enamel jobs.

Here's a quick pic (before i got worn out) of the cabin roof and trunk lid polished. I had started out with 4000, but seems it wasn't doing much, so I dropped it down to 3200, then 4000, 8000, and finished it off with 12000. Still got edges and crevices to get, which is usually the last thing I do prior to paste polish and wax.

I'll have some more pics and progress soon as I get my darn decals in. Been 2 weeks already on a 5-day shipping order that shows it as being here in town all week.

hope you all enjoy

PS - Has anyone else experienced or know if this paint (TS-51) normally has this effect. Kinda like, half deep blue, half medium purple? It's not a problem (since i already painted it), just curious if this is the norm.

Re: Calsonic GT-R WIP - First build on the forums

It's interesting to see the engine and transmission in a different colour scheme. Well perhaps I should stop showing mine on AF after seeing yours! It's really sweet though!
