This one I really don’t mind to come back from A.F. dungeons since it was one of my best projects until now.
![]() Thanks four your new set of comments guys. I’m glad you like it. ![]() G60 Kid, I think Tamiya make a re-edition of this model since I’ve seen two on my local store the last time I visit it. |

ive been looking for this OOP kit for ages to go with my 956 and merc c9- would fit the theme perfectly. Excellent job on the detailing- looks really good. The engine bays on those le mans recers are much more cluttered than how tamiya represent it- box stock really doesnt do the real car justice.
One suggection though, how about a bit of light blackwashing (slightly thinned tamiya x19 smoke) to bring out the detail on the radiators, air vents and engine block? it really brings the car alive and highlights your extra detailing work. Nice one!

Thanks to whoever brought this thread up, I just won this kit on eBay this morning! Hooray! Now it's time to start research and collecting details.... I can't wait to get it and build it. Great work by the way, I'll be lucky if my car comes even close to being as awesome as yours is.

Looks like an awesome project. Gonna have to say the 787B is one of my favorite race cars.

Re: Tamiya 1/24 Mazda 787B - Detailed
Again thank you all for your comments on this old project
![]() Quote:
![]() For the green parts of my model I used just decals. Don’t know what you’re thinking of doing, if try to get another decal sheet or go for a green painted option. The correct colour for this green is Park Green X-28 (paint) or TS- 35 (spray). In any case good luck in finishing this beautiful model. Quote:
I have planed a huge restoration project (especially on the old models) when I have the opportunity of transfer my collection to a new expositor. This will include some paining detail (X-19 washes, dry brushes, etc) as well as glue many broken parts as antennas and mirrors, the normal accidents that happen when the models are exposed in a shelve with no protection
