99 Chevy cavalier problems im lost help!!!!

Could be the gas. You seem to have this problem around the beginning of winter. If you live where they change fuel blends for the winter to more ethenol, that could contribute to your problem. I've heard of that happening before.

Wow im surprised to see so many frustrated people with their cavs.. My old girl 1996has almost 150k Miles = 227k km's and ive had no real problems.. That is also with my brother bagging the shit out of it for a month a year ago. I guess its all in how you take car of your vehicle..

Well I had the spark plugs,wires replaced(brand new), I had a belt replaced even, tune up, oil change a couple of weeks ago and guess what STILL HAVING TROUBLE!!! ARGHHHHHHHH! (Over 230 dollars again) Before when I was stopped at a stop sign or stop light it acted like it was about to jump off the frame itself(like when you hold down the break and keep on the accelerator at the same time, NOTE: I dont do this at all)The engine light is on, when I slowly step on the accelerator it CRAWLS in speed, then when i pushed it all the way down to give it power it still wouldnt accelerate( like dragging its frame on the ground) then when that happens,its like a fast ticking sound like a mechanical sound, and when I shut the car off after I got to the destination point(1/2 mile away) it smelled like burnt rubber, then quit. On the way back home, it ran fine but sputtered a bit at the stop light and the engine light is still on. Im starting to pull out my hair over this(im going to be one bald mommy at the ripe old age of 33) Im taking it to the shop on Monday morning and have them check it out again(including erasing the error codes if any) It only has 75,ooo original miles on it and I only take it out of town seldomly. HEELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLPPPPPPPPPPPP!!!

UPDATE:
I took it in to the place I got it repaired at and got the coils replaced as well, and IT STILL KEPT DOING IT!!! With all of us baffled(me and about 3 mechanics on hand trying to figure this mystery out) and already spent 1 1/2 hours on it already, one mechanic decided to put carbonizer spray into where the throtle(valve) was located at. After about 15 min of continually spraying and reving the engine a bit, it ran fine idleing and when put into gear(the bucking motion) while the brake was held on it, we figured it was gummed up to wear it needed to be ungummed and I put a bottle of feul injection cleaner in it as well. I have to take it back tommorrow morning because one of the mechanics owns the actual computer to see if any codes are on it. He will hook it up to the computer for free and erase ANY error code for free to see if that would make a difference. As of tonight its running fine and dandy, but well see what the computer says in the morning

I got an 01 cavy and someone put suger in my tank and ill tell you that it simulated a clogged fuel filter and the car was stubbling and sputtering and the thing just didn't want to go. i am not saying it is suger i am saying that a clogged filter will do a hell of a lot like the stubbling and lagging and stalling. oh yeh by the way the suger did not get passed the strainer in the fuel pump it just turn the fuel pump into rock candy. if it was the egr the problem would get less harsh the higher your rpms. it could also be a clogged exhaust system or clogged catalytic (excuse the spelling) converter
