Re: Tools
Sounds to me like this topic should be opened up to a larger audience than just C/K owners.
Most of my tools are Craftsman (I'm very DIY). I still have and use my first ratchet set from them given to me by my dad when I was 18. Only broke one piece, a socket u-joint, and that was because of stupidity and low-light conditions. Replaced free with no questions. I have some GreatNeck and Husky stuff only because of the relative cost versus the number of times I would actually use the tool. Why spend a lot on a tool that you will only use once every 2 years? Plus, they were available at Wal-Mart at 11:45 at night when Sears was already closed so I could get that last d&$n bolt loose...you know the scenario. Desperate times call for desperate measures.

Re: Tools
I found that over the past 10 or so years, I'm breaking more craftsman tools. This past weekend alone, I busted 3 different brand breaker bars removing an axle nut. I was really surprised at the noticable difference and the force it took to break each one. One was a cheap China bar which was by far the worst. The other was an S-K and the one that took the most abuse was Craftsman. In the end I had a bunch of worthless junk but Sears replaced the breaker bar no questions asked. Maybe because of all the bandages on my hand but I should also note that the Craftsman one was over 30 years old. The china crap was new and the S-K was about a year old but never really used.
