not FBI. I work for a three letter agancey and am bastardized into the DOD quite often. actually my paycheck comes from DOD, but they dont own me.
No the agency owns my PSG-1. it is just Mine in the sense that no one else can use it. it is sighted in for me and set how I want, need it to be. if someone else were to mes with it then if I needed to use it in a Real Senario I might miss. in 13 years that hasnt happene yet, and god willing it never will. My team and I have a locker that all our weapons are stored in, and we are the only ones that can get in to them. so in a way it is mine. But I could never afford to drop $20,000 to have my PSG-1 duplicated for my own house. My pockets arent that big!
