Heater is a pain in the a$$. HELP!

I had a 96 blazer. When i bought the darn thing and drove it off the lot i tried the 4X4 and it too just flashed and then went back to 2WD. You could hear the motor trying just it would not engage. I took it back to the dealer and they "manually" moved it to 4 wd. I never had a problem since. It turned out that since it had not been used in quite a while it froze up. Something to try maybe?

Is that not basically the same thing as resetting the encoder motor? If so, you can do that by disconnecting the negative battery terminal for 30 minutes.

I had vacum back at my transfer case but nothing at the actuator up under the battery, replaced whole vacumline from acuator to transfer case and problem was solved. for the heater core I just went through this my self pulled both lines attaced a length of garden hose to the return end and blasted the inlet with water pressure reversed process a few times till it broke free. You can cook on the dask know.

how can you tell if the acuator is working with the battery in the way?

It's a pain in the you know what, you can't even see it from underneath the rig. I actually relocated my actuator and mounted it next to my battery. I had a year where I kept loosing 4x4 and finally had enough. I actually got the thing out of a snow bank using a c-clamp and compressed the acuator. this was before I figured out where I was loosing vacum. The acuator will completely compress when you have good vacum.
