As someone stated earlier in this thread the 7.5 fuse underneath the hood is the constant fuse for your radio. It is labeled "backup". I also have seen plenty of 5g civics with problems with the constant wire. The Sony that you bought uses the standard wiring scheme using yellow as the constant 12v and red as the Ign 12V. If you need to redo the constant wire the easiest way to do it in your car would be to go to the fus box and use the male blade sticking out above your fuses that reads constant 12 volts when the car is off. This is where Honda hooks into the car for factory added accesories that are optional. Hope this helps.

EFsleeper:
Thanks for that information. I already fixed the problem by running a new wire from the battery with a fuse to the Yellow wire from the HU. But I will use your info later on for other things I plan on doing to it. I wish you would have posted this earlier But I don't feel like going back in and messing with the HU till winter. It is way to hot here in Houston. I think I am just going to buy stuff I want as I see it for a good deal but wait to install it till the 2 (maybe 3 months if we are lucky) of mild winter we get down here. We installed my brothers Neons on his car at night so it wouldn't be so hot but then you have to deal with the mosquitos.Once again thanks to all for your help. |
