Re: Falkens newest drifter.

Hoosier is that a stock t-top on your car? Its' pretty good looking 3rd Gen camaro man, dig the lip spoiler. I like the 68's the best but the 2's and 3's are pretty hot also. My camaro is ugly as sin, it's in rough shape, needs a new roof and body panels.

Huh? What are you talking about bro? Explain cause you got me lost.

EDIT* Okay I had to re-read that a few times; You mean to say that the 70-72 is the second gen and the 67-69 is the first? I just got my 68 a year ago, and it has been in storage since the day I found it so I haven't had a chance to study up on it. Does GM base the gen's on the body? I.E X, A, B, F etc?

Re: Falkens newest drifter.

no all camaro's and firebirds are on the F-body chassis code, other things like chevelles, impalas, novas are all on the diffrent code chassis.

Re: Falkens newest drifter.

I thought the 67-69's where X, and the 70 ^ where F? I guess I was wrong. What threw me off what the the 68-74 Nova and 67-69 camaro shared the same sub-frame and suspension.

Re: Falkens newest drifter.

In case you guys didn't know, the driver is Ryan Hampton from Drift Alliance. He's a Formula D and D1 veteran, and before drifting, he did IRL. He drove an RX-8 and even got Yoshinori Koguchi's old 180SX after that. The Camaro is his new car.

I've seen videos of the car before, and it looks and sounds great. If he can drift something like that and be competitive, I say more power to him.

Re: Falkens newest drifter.

You mean he was in d1gp in the us, or he actually did japan too? D1 in japan is much different than irwindale, they dont have the really long banks for higher hp cars to get a good lead with etc...
Didnt he mess up koguchis 180sx or something? I don't remember but i think somethign happened to it...

Re: Falkens newest drifter.

Hampton is a US D1 guy. I think he's also been to the Drift Association(a lot of Club 4AG people) drift days too, because he's in their video.

I think Hampton may have just stopped using the 180SX. He didn't seem to have it for long. Only saw a couple pictures. I never saw him in the RX-8. He blew that car up just before Formula D Houston, and was stuck with using a Miata set up for autocross. He didn't even get to qualify.

I don't know much about the RX-8. I never even saw a picture of it.

The 180SX from Koguchi didn't look like it had been changed much. At least in the picture I saw, the only real change was the blue/green Falken paint job. The car still had the same body kit and drop vent hood Koguchi used and everything.
