i'm no marine biologist but:
1) no, i thnk the salt water would kill the sperm. plus, they're 5 feet for a reason, lol. 2) I agree with that being a bad way to transport it. atleast cover it with a tarp or something. as for setting up a site right there, i'm sure people want to use that beach, and an outdoor examination isn't good, cuz of scavengers or w/e.

Some marine animals do spawn/mate by putting sperm and eggs out in the water. How else you gonna transport a 56 foot (17.2M) dead animal that weighs several tons? Too bad they waited so long that this happened. If they'd have been a bit quicker they wouldn't have whale guts in the streets.

I agree with you guys on the bad decision on the way they moved the whale. They probally didn't have any other means to move it.
But just imagine, your just stepping out of the tofu shop, ready to go home cuz you're fungry, and then flatbed rolls buy with a friggin whale on the back. "Whoa, what tha fuck!" ::boom:: "I just lost my damn appetite..."

I too was thinking it would be the clip of the whale actually being blown up. But this is worse. I cant imagine whats it like to have a sperm whale blow up right in your face.
