It may be that the fluid settles in the bottome of the pan and all bands and clutches are dry. This will allow friction when the engine is being cranked. Most cars that are automatic can now be push started at around 25 miles an hour and because of the setup it can cause the tranny to pull a little upon a cold start. Don't ask for the specifics of all this, but it is not harmful to the tranny. |

This kinda sounds like a situation where the transmission needs servicing.
A fluid and filter replacement would probably stop this is it is indeed a physical problem.
