Yeah, but the turning radius on an F-16 is like...1/2 mile.

Back on topic?

Couldn't find any performance numbers on an n/a SS, but the stock SC goes a 1/4 mile ~ 14.5-14.9.

The Si clocked in a 15.1 (according to Road and Track), so I don't think an n/a SS could walk the new Si.

But the more I look at the SC/SS the prettier it gets, not so ugly after you look at it a few times.

Yeah, but they're all sporty cars... of the two (SI/SS) I'd take the MX-5 Turbo.

The rating from Chevy that states 205 bhp is correct. The thing is, GM stops the dyno pull on the motor at 5,800 rpm. The S/C LSJ pulls max power all the way to redline(6,500 rpm), so by the time you're at redline it's pulling around 235-245 bhp.

Re: Cobalt SS n Civic (Si) opinions

Well, for one, the Civic is heavy, as it is close to 3000 pounds. It also has alot less torque. For comparable numbers just look at the RS-X Type S. It gets smoked by the Cobalt SS according to the rags. The Cobalt is underrated power wise (Most likely for insurance purposes). I'd give the nod to the Cobalt, though handling wise the new Civic Si is suppose to be one of the best corner carvers.

Car and driver did a comparo between the RSX-S, SS, SRT-4, WRX, and ION, and the RSX came out on top.

The foreign cars pretty much always come out on top in any of their comparos Even though the RSX type S came out on top in a mag it still isn't faster than the Cobalt SS/SC.

I've also seen another comparo in a different mag where the SS came out on top of the RSX(berely, but still on top). Every mag has their own oppinions and agendas.

Yeah, but the RSX didn't win for it's performance, the editors chose it as the best overall car.

I believe the SRT-4 ACR won most of the competition.

If you read the next months magazine, they got flamed by readers for choosing the RSX over the other cars because it didn't win the comparo. Car and Driver, er I mean Honda and Driver have been known to give Hondas in general the win over other makes just cause it's a Honda.

Look at the Honda Ridgeline, they named it the best Pickup truck in their Compact Pickup truck comparo, for it's car like ride quality. Even though the damn thing did worse off-road and can't tow for shit. Not to mention it's useless bed and it's "lockable storage" in the bed. How can you get to your locked storage bin if you've got shit in the bed?

They got flamed for that too. Car and Driver is on the Honda payroll.

This thread is trying to pick the best overall car as well. Nobody here argued that the Si outperformed the SS, all we were saying that overall it's a better car than the SS.

If you havent personally driven or at least been in both cars how can you make that choice?
