Re: chirping noise from motor area 2000 Taurus
I have a 2000 Ford Taurus with the 3.0L engine and same problem. Where is the cam position sensor located? Thanks.

Below the air intake hose on the drivers side. It is ynder a little wiring loom also. Not hard to replace. If syncronizer needs replaced, be sure to install it EXACTLY in the position the old one came out or you will trip a P0340 code.

Re: chirping noise from motor area 2000 Taurus
"Yes
the cam sensor synchronizer assemby started to get real loud, so i had it replaced by a ford dealer $115.83 for the part & labor" A few years ago I bought the synchronizer from my dealer and paid about $155 for it. Labor rates around here in Maryland hover around $80 or so per hour. I did it myself but it still would take at least a half hour to replace the unit. |

Re: chirping noise from motor area 2000 Taurus
Hey Lee,
Did you have the cam position synchronizer assembly replaced or just the cam position sensor? The cam position synchronizer lists for about $125. Thanks, Jerry |
