There's no reason you should need to get a lawyer that I can think of.

The room she is in in the hospital will make a fine place for her to speak to the police, press charges, and start proceeding to get the bastard jailed. Just talk with her and hospital staff to find out the best time for the cops to come, then make a few phone calls to get the cops there.

Make sure her 'father' isn't able to come visit her in the hospital.

Under NO circumstances let her waver and fail to press charges.

The only reason I recomended talking to an attorney is because she is under 18 and these cases with minors can get tricky sometimes. But without a doubt talk to the cops ASAP. Peace-

Stupidly, I'd confront him face to face, and at least try to beat the shit out of him. There are things I don't tolerate at all, and treating people how they shouldn't be treated is one of them.

Even if they were in an argument, he should not have hurt her like that.

1) She's his daughter. Whoever could to that to their daughter ficking disgusts me.
2) She's a human being. Its not right to do that, under any circumstances...unless they're doing it to others.

But yeah. Don't confront him. Only I would do it because I'm stupid and don't care what happens to me. Just stay by your girlfriends side. She'll need your help now more than ever.
