also a welded diff is the lowest form on earth. It has many compromises and doesn't even do that many good things on an road going car. It is a cheap ghetto rig, something that you look down on in every other sector about cars R.W.240. see Coilovers, wide wheels, SR's.....etc. If somebody can afford coilovers, 500 dollar a piece wheels, and a SR swap then why the hell would you cheap out so much on the differential? It is one of the most important aspects of the car actually when handling is concerned. Maybe thats why the good ones cost so much money. A LSD does more then just lay two strips of black burnt rubber on the ground when u do a powerbrake or clutch dump.

I like the qualities of a good clutch LSD differential myself. I would much rather have a VLSD over a welded diff. I've never driven a quaife car or known anyone who has one, so I can't really comment on how they actually act when u drive it or do burnouts.

So... My car will be used mainly for drifting... Tell me one good reason why I wouldn't want a Welded

A) It wont break if I do it right
B) It will react (or doesnt have to) quicker than a Clutch and be more consistant.
C) Its Free... as opposed to 1100$
D) My Car is already gonna be a bitch on the street (Preloaded Coilovers, Heim Jointed everything, Bucket Seat, Puck Clutch)... I dont mind a skipping tire (good Clutch types will do that too) and I already dont drive like an Idiot on the street.


Dont say understeer because every drift car thats not tuned by some superstreet poser wannabe is setup to understeer. Dont say turn in because if you initiate far enough back it wont matter.
